"Management was a headache to deal with, when renewing my lease it took so much work just to get signed on again. Half of them are great and half are rude, you will be put on hold then hangup on or told they will figure it out tomorrow. Not impressed with the apartments either."
"The office manager Joshua doesn’t follow through with company policies. He picks and chooses which tenants to follow which rules he wants to follow. There is dog poop all over the grounds. The dog waste cans are overflowing and when complained about, Shannon in the office always lies and says that maintenance just emptied them. Don’t ever let a maintenance person into your apartment unless you’re home. The grounds aren’t kept up on year round. If you’re unhappy with the staff or policies not being followed, Shannon will just tell you to move. Yet, not everyone can afford to do that."
"Took our application money. No criminal records, we have section 8 housing and income and got denied because partner owes child support debt No evictions no others debts no nothing , my credit score is 710 and partner has never had any credit his report says not enough history instead of a number. been in our current place 7 1/2 years. They took our application money and ran with it. Girls in the office were young and judgemental. Lady who started processe sounded promising then she disappeared and we got told no by two girls we weren't even originally working with. All the reviews we read were bad enough but we thought. , Eh we.ll do our own maintenance if we need to. Another company that makes side money on app fees obviously."
"Moved Into A Unit In August (After being promised a unit that was not actually available in June). After Being told several times by both the power company (Vera) and the management team at The Villages, that the reason we had not received a utility bill in the first 2 Months was the lack of action of either company. (basically the reason we didn't have an account set up, both companies claimed, is that the other company didn't do their part.) Then after finally getting an account set up and paying my bill on time for 3 straight months, at the end of the year (12/28) the charge for 2 months from when we first moved in was added to our rent charge through the Management company. I have never had more problems with a management company and their behavior and passing of the buck is extremely unprofessional. Very rude attitudes and failure to communicate leaves you feeling like middle schoolers are in charge of your lease. would look to newer management companies/locations to live, we will be when our lease is up no doubt."
"We lived in that location for four years, during which time we had endless problems. Broken appliances that were not repaired or replaced in a timely fashion (but which we were still paying for the use of), issues with neighbors that were not resolved even by asking staff for help, rude treatment from a few of the office staff. Ownership changed halfway through our rental period and the new owners are even worse. And the capstone was, when we finally moved out, we spent a MONTH cleaning our apartment to leave it in the best condition possible. We didn't expect to get the entirety of our damage deposit back, but we hoped for at least $100 of the $300. Instead, we got a blasted BILL for carpet damages! (The carpet was already in when we moved there, and we lived there for four years.) We asked for proof that the carpet was only in for three years, which was what they claimed, and they said they didn't have to give us any! All in all, if you're desperate, go ahead and live here, but don't stay long."
