The Farmhouse

"A friend and I had brunch at the Farmhouse today, December 16, 2023 and found the food to be some of best I've ever eaten at what I consider reasonable prices especially for the quality of the food! We had: -Pot Roast Grilled Cheese - absolutely fantastic flavor. The bread was perfectly toast and the fries were perfectly seasoned! -Boston Cream Pancakes - super fluffy pancakes with an amazing cream spread. They came with butter and syrup but, didn't need it...great flavor! -Steak and Eggs - Perfectly cooked medium rare ribeye with a compound butter to die for. Potatoes that melt in your mouth and perfectly cooked over-easy eggs! I'm gonna dream about this steak!!! -Blueberry muffin - the chef brought out a complementary blueberry muffin that had been freshly baked. In the center we found cream cheese. It's not even close...this was absolutely the best blueberry muffin I've tasted. We loved it so much that we purchase 8 more to bring home for our family! Overall, it was a really good atmosphere with an attentive and delightful server. We sat near the kitchen and it was not loud. Every person that worked there was super friendly and nice. I'm telling you, this is one of the best restaurants in which I've eaten. I highly recommend The Farmhouse!"

"This was my first visit here and I had high expectations after hearing reviews. Unfortunately, my family and I weren't pleased with many food items today including the cinnamon roll, biscuits and gravy, and French toast. The Club Sandwich and French fries were 5 stars, highly recommended. The plate presentation of the French toast looked delicious, but the looks were deceiving. Menu was solid, they have items for various dietary preferences. Our service was just good, but I recognize they were understaffed so they did a good job given circumstances. Atmosphere was okay, some decoration but no background music. Given the hype here, I'm willing to give another chance."

"Although the menu is limited, the food is yummy. Limited menu is a good thing in this case flavors were on point. Hollandaise, chili Beef Omelette, potatoes, poppyseed coffee cake w sweet butter frosting. French press coffee! Streetcar from crossroads or downtown use Google maps. It’s easy, less, than a 10 minute ride. snag a seat at the bar no wait."

"This is hands-down the best brunch I've eaten in KC. I started with a cranberry mimosa and had biscuits and gravy with a side of hash. The biscuits were fresh baked, and I loved having the option to get mushroom gravy (though I'm sure the sausage gravy would also have been good). The hash came with house-made ketchup. My dining companion shared some of her toast with me as well. Everything was delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. As is typical with River Market restaurants, this is an older building with high ceilings and bohemian decor. And the service was great. But ohmygod the noise. Several groups around us were having extremely loud conversations, and of course the louder it gets the more everyone feels the need to shout at each other. Unfortunately, I don't see any work-around for the crowds. The Farmhouse is only open for brunch, which makes it hard to schedule a visit for a less active part of the day. If not for the need to face the crowds, I would eat here much more frequently."

"This place is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it for everyone to try out. The staff was nice and the food was good, even if it has some interesting combinations. Would I bring my kids here? No. But would I recommend it for every one else to try? Absolutely. The farm to table concept it really cool and makes the food taste pretty good."
