"Showed up on time and repaired my front door which was totally out of plumb and so was the wall. Somehow Jorge managed to fix it. He reattached trim, and caulked. It's like a new door. Took him six hours. They don't do painting, but I already knew that. Jorge also caulked a leaking skylight and included it in the original bid. Anderson is a little high on price, but you get what you pay for. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their work. Also.......Jorge is a nice guy. Be sure to ask for him."

"Excellent service! I own a condo in downtown Portland - in one of the first highrise building constructed back in the 60s. As such, this building has some very finicky “tilt and turn” windows manufactured by a company in Canada. It’s very difficult to get anyone to work on them - or get hardware to fix them. I called Pamela Mae in a panic because I live on the 21st floor and the handle on my window failed leaving me unable to close my window. Pamela got a technician out as soon as possible with a temporary handle to close the window, and then ordered the parts. As part of our conversation, she let me know they were ordering extra parts to have on hand for these older buildings. She also was able to get me one of the special tools they used so I can have it in my kit in the event of another emergency. The technicians who came twice - to temporarily close the window, and then to repair it - were awesome. They arrived when they said they would, were polite and quick! Im very pleased with my experience. Excellent customer service and a caring staff!"

"We had a great experience with this company. They were able to get us an appointment right away. Jorge was here for the better part of the day. He took the time to explain what he was and would be doing. The door was originally installed incorrectly by a different company. Anderson’s Door and Windows / Jorge were able to use our existing door and repair the jamb and added insulation to keep the draft from entering our home. Jorge was friendly, knowledgeable and informative."

"My slider door wasn't able to close and several other companies had sent someone out to "fix" it, but it was starting to break apart. I read positive reviews about Anderson Door and Window Mechanics so I gave them a call. It is rare to find a company that has the experience and is also willing to take the time and effort to repair something properly rather than to try a quick fix or suggest that it be replaced with a new one. From the beginning, everyone in the office was very professional. When it came to the day of the repair, the technician found some very unusual problems with the door and damage to major parts, but rather than decide that it was "unfixable", he called Gordon who I assume to be the owner. Gordon came to the site and they disassembled the door to find the problem, repaired the damage at substantial effort and reassembled the door, which now works great! Gordon also took the time to write a detailed email to me explaining what the problem was. The best part is he stayed within the quoted price range and I didn't have to rip out the slider and install a new one at great expense in the middle of winter! "In May 2021, I contacted ADWM regarding the repair of 3 windows (approx. 50" in width) that had varying degrees of wood rot in the trim and sills. These are the reasons for the 1-star rating in order of importance: 1. ADWM removed one of the window sills and never replaced it, even after repeated attempts over 2 months on my part to have them return to finish the job (see attached photos 1 and 2). I had paid them in full according to their policy (50% in advance, and 50% on the day of work). 2. ADWM's cost for repairing 3 windows was $2,572. They confirmed in writing that this included replacement of the sills. At 4pm of the day the techs performed the work, one of the techs informed me that I would need to pay them an additional $438 to replace one of the rotted sills (which they already removed). Even though they previously confirmed the $2,572 included sill replacement, I agreed (both verbally and in a signed contract) to the additional fee, as it was now October 2021 and raining. They said they didn't have the materials to replace the sill that day, but would need to return to finish the work. Ultimately they never did, even through they agreed to in a written contract (see previous point). 3. On one of the windows, they reattached the existing sill, which already had wood rot in the left corner (see 3rd attached photo). 4. The techs forgot to caulk one of the window sills. I noticed within 24 hours and immediately called ADWM to ask if they could remedy the situation. First they denied it, and then after I emailed them a photo showing the uncaulked sill, ADWM made excuses, and also said they didn't know when they could come back to caulk the sill. In the end, they sent someone out a few days later to caulk the sill, but only after I offered to caulk the sill myself in exchange for a discount. 5. Very slow response times. On multiple occasions, it took ADWM weeks to respond to my emails."
