Woodlands Apartments

"Overpriced and outdated. Our unit was filthy when we moved in. When we moved out we left it absolutely spotless and did a walkthrough with the property manager who said it looked great- still got barely any of our deposit back not to mention over a month later. We moved out early and continued to pay rent due to a toilet that had flooded. I had reported the toilet having issues and no one was sent out to fix it before it was too late. The people who came to fix it mentioned how we just needed a whole new toilet but that was never done. The flood leaked all the way into the hallway and into the main bedroom. It had leaked down into downstairs neighbors unit. When they came to “fix it” they tore just that section of carpet out pulled out the padding underneath, put the top carpet back down and were told to wait for it to dry so they could put new padding underneath. So that nasty toilet water carpet is still on top… maybe they should use the money they stole from our deposit to replace it but highly doubt that lol. The shower had mold in it from day one. Lots of wear and tear around apartment- patio covered in moss and dirt that we spent hours scrubbing off. No washer and dryers in unit- community wash and dryers always breaking down. Tons of homeless in the area, had stuff stolen several times. Management not responsive. Do not move in here!!!"

"Reasonably priced spacious apartments, large balconies, no washer/dryer but the laundry room does the job. Tons of storage space. Pool. fitness center. A lot of the dog owners know each other and hang out at the dog park. Really chill place but the best part is the manager Crystal! Looks out for all her tenants and is super responsive :) really kind and shows she cares."

"Overall I had a very positive experience at Woodlands. I moved from Creekside Village locally and had a bad experience there. I rented a small loft style apartment at Woodlands which was cheaper than my last apartment. My neighbors have been pretty friendly here and my dog made friends with some of the dogs who lived on site. It was nice to have a dog park so close. While the apartments are older, all new flooring had been put in prior to me moving in which I totally appreciated. I was able to get a dog here. The down side is that I got a noise complaint from a neighbor when my dog was a puppy (what can you expect with a puppy?) The manager, Cindy, here is amazing! Very responsive and kind. She always gives my dog treats and talks with me for a few minutes when I am passing by! I actually feel like a person not a number here. She seems to remember which apartments people live in which is cool! I needed a few minor repairs, but nothing major. Overall fairly quiet in the back of the complex though we do get some homeless people coming through and digging in the garbage. There is no in unit laundry, but two on site laundries and the facilities are adequate (although do cost money). Several cars did get broken into and backpacks were stolen from them. Also, doublecheck if you get a window AC that it is approved. I learned the hard way and accidently bought the wrong kind. When I put a request in for a few repairs, I also requested a few light bulbs changed. I was told this was not a part of maintenance, however, when I came back they had changed my light bulbs and left spares! I was super surprised and impressed! I would likely renew my lease after a year (I've been here from Jan 2020-Jan 2021), but the rent is going up and I decided to move out of state. I would recommend this place if you don't mind older apartments, but the pros seem to outweigh the minor cons. Best wishes on your apt search!"

"The manager is great and on top of stuff to the best of her abilities. Unfortunately some things are just out of her control. The apartments have a lot of room, but are old and run down inside. Carpet is horrible for anyone suffering from asthma. No a/c, No washer/dryers, sealed off fire places that still have a large presence in the living room. I stuck my tv in front of it so I wouldn’t have to look at black painted plywood. One of the drawers in the kitchen can’t be opened without first opening the oven door..ect. So many rules and regulations that make it difficult to truly feel at home. All this would be tolerable if my rent hasn’t gone from $815 to $1159 in the past three years. I even moved into a little bit smaller apartment. Not a big deal to some. It is however a big deal and whole different budget for a single mom."

"Added Extra star because they allow dogs and cats. So far tolerable. These apartments were built in the 60's and they seem to be in various stages of "upgrades". The laundry facility is a joke. The washers are basic and do not hold more then a small/medium load. If I have to pay $1.50 per load can I get a commercial sized machine?! I have had clothes ruined already by the washer and dryer. I will not wash any expensive clothes here. The pool is well maintained and there are only people digging in the dumpster in broad daylight every couple of days. But they aren't noisy and don't make a mess. Manager is very nice. Also lives on site. They do allow dogs and cats. Any place that doesn't allow dogs or cats is a hard no for me."
