"This is a place I would recommend if you are desperate, not if you’re looking for a safe, nice place to live or raise a family. For the price, my husband and I are able to get an adequate 2 bedroom in a neighborhood that could certainly be worse. Our unit was in decent shape, we didn’t expect it to be that nice, so we weren’t disappointed. In the two months since moving in we have had mail stolen from the supposedly secured mail area, THREE TIMES. Twice from parcel lockers. There are kids screaming outside during daylight hours, as they play in the parking lots. The trash areas are absolutely filthy from homeless people looking through them. Communication with the on-site office is horrendous. I now understand what all the other reviewers were talking about. The low star review is absolutely accurate."
"I wouldn't recommend these guys. Umbrella is very unprofessional and the crossings are awful. Cheaply made, they do not spray for bugs so the apartments are usually infested with something, for us it was ants and spiders. The neighbors are very unpleasant. Not all of them, but a large portion are not very polite. Back to what I said, the apartments are cheaply made! The baseboards are falling off and torn up, the carpets are hard to keep clean and damage easy. The cupboards fell apart, the sink is tiny. The fridge is very small and the overall layout of the apartment is odd and boxed in. I could go one forever. Last thing I'll mention is the fraudulent behavior. They have attempted to take several thousand from me for rent that was paid ahead."
"My personal experience here was exactly what I would expect out of an apartment complex. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the apartments are clean and overall, it's pretty quiet. Good neighborhood, and management is easy to work with and so long as you follow the rules and keep your apartment clean and drama free you'll enjoy it too! Aside from a couple of hundred bucks for deep cleaning and some minor repairs, I was given my whole deposit back after moving out and if I should ever need to do apartment life again, I would definitely consider The Crossings. Thank you Umbrella Properties."
"I feel bad that so many people have had a bad experience here. To complain about kids I think is ridiculous - it's their home too. And we've never had homeless people bothering us or sleeping on our lawns, and never have had problems with bugs (bedbugs, fleas, etc). I like the location. There are two parks nearby, as well as Winco. It doesn't feel crowded and my neighbors are great. We had an extreme situation requiring we move in right away and needed some special accommodations and they were absolutely wonderful with helping us, which I am extremely grateful for (several other rental companies refused to help us and didn't even pretend to care). They have also been very accommodating with my service dog. We had a small issue with our dryer and the maintenance personnel came out within a couple of hours to fix it. I think the rent itself is a little pricey, but that's more a problem with the Pacific NW/Eugene than the apartment complex itself. If you try to get cheaper rent, you're going to live downtown/by campus and the crime there is horrible, so I prefer living here. I wish that the units came with air conditioning, but other than that I can't complain. I am planning on renewing my lease here for another year."
