"This is exactly what I was looking for. Hotel rooms drive me nuts and are separated from the feel of a city and neighborhood. Slabtown Village is perfectly located, incredibly well decorated, and a really fun place to stay. The owners are incredibly responsive and accommodating. They have every detail down to perfection, including gourmet coffee beans and grinder for morning coffee (with creamer in the fridge too!), thick towels, and comfy beds. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a bit of adventure, great stories to take home, and a perfect little nook to call home while traveling."
"What a wonderful spot. Especially for someone with limited mobility. I'm five weeks away from total knee replacement surgery and Slabtown Village couldn't have been more perfect. No hotel lobby or long hallways to negotiate, only two steps up from the sidewalk level, easy electronic lock access, and free nearby street parking, plus the option to sleep on a very comfortable couch instead of climbing the stairs to the loft made for a wonderful accommodation. Loved having everything at arms length: fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, kettle, toaster, extra linens, and space in the closet for my carry-on. Plus the special amenities (variety of teas, coffee beans/grinder and the Portland chocolate bar!) were a lovely surprise. Light meals, midnight snacks, wi-fi, TV, Netflix, hot showers, fluffy towels, shampoo/conditioner, iron/ironing board...it was all just fantastic! Honestly, The Vera House had nearly everything imaginable--even a huge umbrella in the event of rain! Plus, the location in NW Portland was close to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and public transportation; and the neighborhood was quiet and felt really safe. A special shout-out to John, one of the owners, who went above and beyond by helping with last-minute, late-night telephone registration and providing directions from the airport. I'd absolutely stay at Slabtown Village again. It was cozy, comfortable, and welcoming; and for me, truly became a 'home away from home.'"
"We recently stayed at the Weidler tiny home and had a fantastic stay. The place was fun! Small, super clean, modern, and the heater and air conditioner were very easy to operate. Everything about the home was beyond what we were expecting. Very quick and cheap Uber into the heart of downtown Portland. The directions to get into the house were simple and easy. Staff was very cooperative and felt very confident booking with the Slabtown website. Would definitely recommend a stay at one of the houses!"
"We stayed at Vera on New Years Eve and I couldn't have been happier with our tiny home and our stay. The layout made the home feel spacious and the finishes were beautiful. The location was great with a short few blocks away from all the fun of NW Portland. I had a very comfortable nights sleep on a very comfy bed and even in the loft there was plenty of space to sprawl out and I never once felt claustrophobic. The porch area was really cool and it seems like it would be great to have multiple families staying in each of the Tiny homes and using the porch as a fun gathering place (it was way to cold to do that on this visit). I would easily recommend staying at Slabtown Village and will definitely stay here again."
"Our family stayed at this cool spot recently and it was a super fun experience. My wife and I had one tiny home and our two kids shared the one next door. The beds were comfy and the homes were clean, welcoming and warm. We loved the common outdoor space and it was there we got to meet the other guests staying that weekend who had made the trip all the way from Australia. It was great to spend a little time with them and share stories and laughs. We really enjoyed the location, walking distance to so many fun shops, restaurants and pubs. We really recommend this place to folks who are looking to explore the beautiful city of Portland, OR and are looking for a fun, centralized spot to set up their basecamp."
