Sauvie Island Beach

"It's very pretty here, but I do wish that all the tourists would respect nature better. Many people decide to have campfires, drinking and camping, and let their dogs run free. It's very frustrating to find hundreds of cigarette butts and wrappers/bottles and wandering around with the constant smell of cannabis in my nose, and music everywhere with zero respect for nearby people. There needs to be a bigger ranger presence."

"Was a beautiful drive out here with cute berry farm and pumpkin patches along the way. Was pretty crowded but still had enough space from others. Wish the wAter were cleaner but it’s still beautiful. Don’t forget to buy a parking pass."

"Nice place, good for swimming, sandy and the water wasn't to cold (Jun 24). Be advised that parking permit is required, $10 daily or $30 annual, you can go to buy it in Island Cove Market, this little market is very nice and the people there are very gentle, you can buy your stuff for the beach and get the parking permit."

"Awesome beach area with lots of space for everyone. Great views and beautiful water. Barges float by too which is an interesting surprise. Definitely hope to swing by here again next time I’m in Portland during the warmer months! Will be bringing a packed lunch next time!"
