"Beautiful scenery, beautiful green grass and an amazing view of Mt. Ranier!!"
"This place is like disney land for BN CO and up. They stand in the middle of the field and wave at us like they're on space mountain having a blast. They've tooken it to a point where they ride in the back of a HMMV on a podium as they, "inspect the ranks." From my perspective, it's more like a safari, we're hungry lions(because they don't let meal card holders get a break for breakfast or lunch) and they're the angry Australian poacher who so happen to bring his shotgun to a family wildlife safari. Anyways, summer is usually CoC season(yeah thats real) because it stops raining for about 1.278 weeks in Washington. So CoC is unbearably hot. But this is more encouraging for our command teams to, "rehearse", marching. We stomp around like the Wiggles every time they're about to sing about fruit. When they finally get done rehearsing the 8 shots of Nyquil Daytime finally start to kick in. I do this for the pure thrill and excitement that would otherwise be wasted on this field. To wrap things up we march off to the bus that takes us back to our respective battalions where we will continue to do company CoC"
"Very large field with a monument to soldiers at one end. Great for events battalion size or up. I believe its big enough to fit thousands of people if needed. Problem is the only cover provided can't fit many people. There are trees that line both sides of the area which is good for shade but not rain. It is clean, green, and good place to enjoy the weather if its not dreadful."
"On sunny days Watkins field has a majestic view of Mt Rainier. I also think that it's really great that the army always the Special Olympics to use their main parade field for the soccer tournament"
"The field is absolutely exquisite. Much larger than a normal football field. Problem is it can only be used for change of ceremony."
