"Everything was nice, but the food was very pricey. Plus it’s kinda in the middle of nowhere so not a lot of other food options - and you have to pay tolls every time you cross the bridge. Nice gym and pool area. Didn’t take advantage of the adventure situation or any of the outdoor things because it was pouring rain when we were there, but it looked fun."

"You can do check-in anytime after 4 pm until midnight without notifying, which for us was very good. Really nice people working there, the parking is very close by, but you still should unload in front of the lobby. No need to bring towels they have plenty. Also, you get a nice robe. Free wifi. Spa on the weekend until 10 pm. The outdoor hottub is the best part."

"It’s 5:45 am and I’m sitting in the lobby of Skamania Lodge. Which, by the way, is really beautiful. The grounds are well manicured, they have lovely fireplaces, treehouses you can rent, playground…The lobby has a nice fireplace to warm you up. But if you value sleep, I suggest staying anywhere else. I was awoken around 5am by loud sounds coming out of the main lobby area. We were on floor 3 and can hear every single sound of the hotel getting ready for the day. Oh, and don’t forget the door out of the lobby that loudly slams any time people come in or out. Seems like an easy fix? Beds are very uncomfortable, feels like you are sleeping on springy plywood. Pillows are mediocre. Rooms are quite small, but do have a nice working area. Restaurant has been the most pleasant part of the trip. Decent fare, but prepare to spend a small fortune. Again the property is very cute. I might try the treehouses next time but I can’t say I would stay in the lodge itself again. 2.5/5"

"Great in every way. From a nice personalized card signed by staff, (congratulating us on our anniversary, with chocolates), to the easy check in, very nice room (clean, nicely appointed, quiet, cozy gas fireplace), great food, wonderful views, clean pool and very nice outdoor hot tub, convenient hiking trails and all the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Easy to get to for a nice relaxing break from Portland. Will definitely return often."

"Great food available any time for lunch and all afternoon and dinner. I bet they breakfast is very good too. We stopped at the Skaminia lodge for a quick (late) bite as we passed through the gorge on I-5. We were seated in the pub, not the dining room, but the view and comfort was just as good. We had a beat salad and a burger. Both were delicious. But what we truly enjoyed was the broad view across the grounds as it stretched into the gorge. It is just such a beautiful spot with a spectacular view in any weather. We stayed at the Skaminia lodge many years ago with our 4 kids. They loved playing in the pools (inside and outside) and the meadows adjacent to the main lobby. My wife and I enjoyed the fireplace and the food. It was a wonderful base from which to travel to various hikes and other points of interest in the Columbia Gorge."
