"I recently moved my 90 year old parents to White Salmon as they wanted to move back to the small town, friendly, close community type of place they grew up with and lived in Alaska for over 50 years in their early days. I brought in my father to get established and introduced to them as well as pick up their prescriptions. From word one (as my father tried to be nice) the woman behind the pharmacy counter was curt, short with him and expressed her total lack of concern that he didnt have the right insurance card on him although he did have his primary Aetna cards that a “kind” person would have assisted by calling that number to get the number and info on his Rx card. Instead, after telling her we could go home and get that card, she said “No need to come back because we’ll be closed by then and we’re closed tomorrow” and she turned and walked away. Incensed by her unbelievable rudeness, I was ready to give her my view of the situation but a nice gentleman co-worker watching nearby stepped in and tried to help by seeing if Medicaid would cover even though we knew he wasn't enrolled as he has private coverage. We will pick up their prescriptions from now on at the pharmacy in Stevenson (30 minutes away) where REAL PEOPLE ARE KIND. What a monster she was. I’d give less than one star if this review system would allow!"

"I USED to love shopping at our little Pharmacy here, in White Salmon. Paul...the manager, WAS the reason I kept coming back! He was always so friendly, so helpful..and when I first moved to town, 7 years ago, he went so far as to help me physically CARRY a heavy water fountain home, where he installed it for me, free of charge! I'm a little old lady...and the people who worked for him, there in the store, ALWAYS greeted me, and everyone else when we came through the doors! When I had a question or concern...they went the extra mile to make sure any problems were quickly resolved. The store was BEAUTIFULLY kept up; with a constantly changing array of merchandise to choose from, and it varied greatly from season to season...which made shopping there a delight and a constant surprise. The selections were easy to find, and well displayed. Had you come to White Salmon, prior to a month ago, you would have enjoyed shopping at High School Pharmacy, because of the people who work there, as well as the selection of goods! I wrote this review about a month ago...and then went to the Pharmacy...and was SHOCKED. The place was in disarray, the familiar staff was gone...no one greeted me. I came back a second time...and the store was even WORSE! "Where is Paul?", I inquired. Turns out...after YEARS of running a superb store, Paul is GONE! And it shows! I came back a 3rd time, yesterday...(only because I had to!)...and the store is in a TERRIBLE state of decline. The staff is amazingly rude and uncaring...and the store is downright filthy! How can a place go so bad, so quickly? I won't shop there, again. I'll drive the extra miles...to Oregon."
