"I went into the shell house for the first time a few years ago to look at a single that someone had for sale. Looked at the boat, decided it wasn't for me, and promptly walked up the wooden staircase to George Pococks shop. I am a boat builder and an oarsman, and I had a reverence for the Pocock work product since the early 70's when I stroked a lightweight eight in college built by George Pocock and associates. That shellhouse; it's kind of a holy place."
"My family and I went on the tour 1/28/24. We had a great experience. Chandler was our guide. We all thought he did an amazing job. He was engaging with all the guests. He was knowledgeable and explained things very well. He was passionate about the crews past and present."
"Beautiful views! I didn't go inside, though."
"They had an open house for the Head of the lake, regatta. Great experience."
"Take a tour and see inside the original UW shell house. If you've read Boys in the Boat this is a must do tour. They are raising money to fix and reopen the space as an event center. One of only two world War 1 hangers left in the USA."
