"Thankful that my Astoria house sold within a month, but absolutely no credit can be taken by Area Properties…Don’t disservice yourself: PLEASE READ PAST REVIEWS. I didn’t and found myself locked in a bad deal with a substandard realtor… Linda Stephens [my personal realtor] is incredibly antiquated, urgently needing updated training to bring her selling techniques and communication skills into the current century. In this market, you have to DO the work, you can’t just sit by as a realtor — post your listings on Craigslist [Yes, CL] and take your own photos. You have to aggressively market, truly serving as a high quality representative for your seller. I am grateful that my property was adorable and unique which aided in it being sold quickly, but really wish I would’ve had someone more communicative, personable, competent and above all — a hard worker [did not justify her commission amount whatsoever]. All in all, leaving Clatsop County felt bittersweet, but in the end - finalizing this transaction could not have come soon enough. POTENTIAL CLIENTS BEWARE: STEER CLEAR AND CHOOSE BETTER FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR HOME!"
"Beside of rudeness and unprofessionalism, the broker Meagan Lewis is violating the Oregon law. We made an offer to purchase a property and she rejected it right away without presenting the offer to the seller. After I asked her why, she said an offer already received and accepted for the listed price, I asked them why it's still listed on every single website it is for sale, shouldn't that be removed! her respond was "it's a good suggestion and we will update the websites". She was lying. By OR law she must represent all offers to the seller and don't reject on the sellers behalf because she wants higher commission. This need to be reported to the real estate commissionor."
"Meagan Lewis is super rude and unprofessional. She does not provide help at all and make decision on the owner behalf without even taking their opinion. She cares only about her commission. I do not recommend Meagan Lewis as a real estate agent."
"On Monday Sept. 13, 2021 a representative from Area Properties came to my storage unit and opened the door, yelling out my name. No one from Area Properties had contacted me prior to this, not by phone or Internet or in person. She then informed me that I was living in my storage unit and had to vacate by 5 pm. This choice, she claimed was made from the statements made to her by another tennant. I attempted to tell her that I had been at my unit that weekend alot because I was moving items from one storage into my new one and late night was the only time I could do this but she was hysterical and refused to listen to reason. She then proceeded to hang out by the unit and the other tennant pulled up and they then proceeded to discuss the situation. I had informed her, upon her accusations, that I was not in fact living in the storage unit and reminded her of my address, which they have on file in the Area Properties office, at 1490 Commercial St. Suite 100, Astoria Or. The employee, Cindy, was completely unreasonable and proceeded to yell over me when I attempted to explain my presence at my storage unit. I was there late into the night organizing my belongings and felt unsafe leaving my property there because of a faulty lock that I had complained about once already. I was unbelievably tired and had recently contracted covid, unknown to me, and when I sat down to rest I passed out from sheer exhaustion. This unprofessional and rude employee stayed there after I left and badmouthed me to the other tennant while continuing to discuss me. Any information about me or opinion about me should not be shared with anyone, let alone another tennant. I have a witness to the slander that was committed on that day. When I returned to my unit later that day, I found a note that stated I must be completely out by Friday, September 17th 2021. The next day, September 14th I contacted Area Properties via phone to inform them of my recent quarantine at Quality Inn in Seaside Or. She said she would contact the owner and get back to me which she did, and then stated that I still have to get out by Friday the 17th and that my recent illness was not their problem. Also there is nothing in our contract that says they can do what they are doing, it does not say I cannot live there even though I do not live there I also says they have to mail me I notice and give me 30 days, everything they are doing is illegal."
"Sell and purchase through Area Properties and Meagan Lewis, neither of those things are fun and I do not want to do either of them again soon, but if I did I would use Meagan. All in all a great outcome and we were taken care of through it all."
