Park Ridge Apartments 1812 Texas Street, Bellingham, WA 98229

"The apartment was dirty from the start. Dirty stained carpet that had cat pee in it. The structure of the building is not well protected against moisture problems. Siding is worn and absorbs water. This causes mold problems inside the apartment. The apartment gets painted to hide the issues, but the problems are not resolved. Mold is a problem with these apartments that returns. When leaving with these major problems that were structural issues, the property management company charged the repainting of the apartment towards the security deposit. Even if you live there and you take good care against mold forming with venting the apartment it is almost impossible to fully prevent all mold forming. When moving out, we found out that they take money away from the security deposit to repaint the apartment and hide the problems for the next renter. The painting is normal wear and tear. We never even put holes in the wall. We lived there for some years and it was OK, but ever since the management change we saw the rent going up and a greedy trend."
