"I live in an apartment nearby this store. I hadn't gone in despite living in the area for over a year due to my personal schedule overlapping with their hours of operation. For months I have been looking for a very specific and hard to find bulb replacement. Unfortunately the only place I could find a replacement was on Amazon online. Today, I went into the store and looked over their bulbs..... It wasn't there. The person at the front told me to go to the second counter for any assistance that I should need so I took a gamble. At the second counter, the person looked at the bulb I had brought and immediately knew not only whether they had it in stock (which they did not) but they gave me not one, but three different in town locations that would carry a replacement. While this is not a specialty store, they have specialty knowledge and the intention to deliver a one on one catered experience. For any additional household repairs and needs in the future, I know they will provide solutions to all situations. I will absolutely be going back. Very grateful to have a business like this in the neighborhood."
"The good news is that they have anything you would need. The people who work there are very knowledgeable. The bad news is that their process is the slowest that I have ever scene. If you get there and there are 0-2 people ahead of you you will be there for 20-30 minutes. Chatting takes precedence. The owner was telling me they had 70 people in line the other day. taking 3 hours to get to the last person. That’s because he chats and takes phone calls and chats with them. i only go there when I have to and plan on 30-60 minutes…even if I am just buying one thing."
"This store seems like it has history and people with a lot of experience. Unfortunately their business administration side is using antiquated and relatively inefficient means to sell goods. As a result purchases can take a lot longer than they should. Relative to the even the lower outliers, it is not in line with today's standards. This coupled with a proclivity towards personalized chats with customers, narrow / saturated spaces, can make for an uncomfortable experience any time they are even slightly busy. The few workers are clearly knowledgeable, very opinionated, and overworked due to the inefficient setup. The stress frequently shows in conversation. To run a credit card payment for example takes 30 times longer, because they generate invoices and copy over credit card stuff manually, and drag redundancies over from different terminals/counters for a single transaction. There seems like there is some potential to multiply their existing success from a logistics & business administration contractor. I would probably make this a go to over other hardware stores. Otherwise this would be good for an older retiree who would enjoy personal chat, nostalgic hardware atmosphere, and to form a personal relationship with the workers or owners. I could not recommend this place for someone who is on a schedule or with a lot of responsibilities."
"Old fashioned hardware store. I feared Lowe's and Home Depot killed these places, glad that i was wrong. The best part is that the very friendly counter person knows what he is talking about. I went in for a dryer part and he knew what i needed off the top of his head. That kind of knowledge /service is hard to find anyplace else. Not here."
"This store is a godsend, especially if you just need a few pieces or parts. The prices are very fair, the service is friendly, and the place has every nut, bolt, and gizmo you can imagine."
