"I came here looking to have an old pair of boots restored after being turned away from a couple of other local shoe repair shops. The owner was completely transparent about the work that would be needed to fix my boots, as well as the cost. We both knew that I may as well buy a new pair of boots at that point. Despite me not being a customer he was happy to help point me towards a similar pair online and to talk about leather care and sizing for a few minutes. Taking time out of his busy day just to help me out really made an impression on me. I'll be supporting this place whenever I can."
"I have been a customer of Totem Pole Shoe Repair for one year now. I'm a competitive ballroom/swing/tango dancer. Obviously a good craftsman for my shoes is invaluable to me. I have received only the finest services from Ivan, who is a pleasant young business owner and completely customer oriented. Any time I had an issue with my footwear and I found myself in difficult circumstances, Ivan always helped me and delivered outstanding service. I can give firsthand qualification of his work. The shoes I've had him work on have withstood the test of many consecutive hours of dancing. They have withstood many different types and textures of dance floor, and even some slick/wet surfaces (pretty difficult stuff for dance shoes). The shoes have been trusted to perform in competition as well, and every single pair he's worked on is still intact to this day. He's even humored me and experimented with a few of my more quirky shoe ideas for dance. I'm proud to have a 'shoe guy' and I tell people about him when they ask. But he's much more than that-- he's a small business owner and a craftsman. When small businesses are doing great work, I encourage the community to embrace and support them. You can go here and be confident in your choice. Don't be too shy to leave a tip."
"I highly recommend Totem Shoe Repair. I moved to Southern Washington about a year ago. I eventually had a few pairs of shoes in need of repair. To my surprise, I discovered via Google that the closest cobbler was 30 miles away in Vancouver(!). So, I decided to wait until I had other errands in Vancouver to take my shoes. Much to my delight, I was thrilled with Ivan’s attention to detail! As I was leaving, I let him know about another pair of shoes for which I had questions about whether or not they could ever be repaired. This is because the shoemaker said before I bought them they would not repair them when the occasion arose. Also, their soles were made of material with an unusual, reddish color. Ivan offered to see what he could do. He asked me to send him a photo of the shoes. Then, he contacted his supplier and let me know that he had found just what I needed. However, he decided to use a different colored sole (black) and a black and brown leather heel. This was a better match color-wise with rest of the shoe than the original soles. That was totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated. When I went to retrieve them, I felt like he had given me a different pair of shoes that looked better than the ones I had given him! The bottom line is the distance from my home to Totem Shoe Repair is no longer an issue because Ivan’s craftsmanship has made me one happy camper and him my new, go-to cobbler!"
"Great customer service and great craftsmanship. The owner is naturally gifted in leather work and can do a variety of leather/ material repairs (I got taking to him and he showed me that he was working on a suitcase, purses, shoes, etc) See pictures of my new purse handles. He put in the rivits which gave my handles a bit of character as well as add more durability and aesethetics."
"He restored my boots to like-new condition! I am so very impressed. The heels on my two Pikolinos boots were completely worn off. He replaced them and got out *ALL* the nicks and scuffs, which is more than I anticipated. He does very very good work. $70 + tax for 2 pairs of shoes sure beats having to buy a whole new pair of boots. You won’t regret coming here!"
