"Did not like how the second I walked in I was being watched like a hawk and flowed me around when I was looking around at things .it was super uncomfortable to be in there I had to put my things back away bc of how they made me feel. I do not recommend it at all what so ever"
"If you enter the store, you know what you are getting into. Full of funny, funnier, and the funniest items. If you don’t have an open mind and a sense of humor, this is not the store for you. Staff is friendly, the store is full of surprises."
"EDIT- DAN and HEATHER in the Vancouver location were great. I give them FIVE STARS. I went in to return the shirts that finally showed up. Neither the packing slip nor the confirmation email I’d received had the itemized prices so they had to sleuth and math and generally gear up for battle to get the return handled. Dan even went so far as to add items to his cart to test the prices. I appreciate their efforts and pleasant attitudes. The 1 Star is for Spencer’s online and as a company. I ordered two shirts on September 28, with an expected delivery date of October 10. By October 11 I hadn’t received any information or items, so I emailed them using the confirmation email I’d received at the time of ordering to make sure the order number was correct. It’s now October 17, I’ve emailed twice more, with no response yet, and called customer service twice; both times I was hung up on. Absolutely horrendous experience. I will be initiating a chargeback. EDIT- a customer service rep responded (politely) to my email thread and had the audacity to tell me that there’s no record of my outreach. They did this IN the thread with all of the emails attached. So I provided the screenshots of the call logs as well. I’m interested to see how they respond to that evidence. So far, definitely not making it better. EDIT THE SECOND OH MY WORD YOU GUYS. It takes them DAYS to respond and it’s a different rep every time and they don’t even answer my questions. I made it in store to return the items."
"Stood staring at the jewelry case for over 10 minutes. 4 employees in the store. All of them ignored me. One was busy at the register, 2 were in the back building a display (I get it, but weird call on a Saturday). And the other one I have no clue what they were doing. Finally the employee at the register asked people who came in after me if they needed help with the jewelry, they said yes. I assumed they would help me too since I had been next to same case for a long time. I was wrong, the employee helped that person then it was back to acting like I didn’t exist. I took that as my sign to leave or that I was unwelcome.Luckily Hot Topic, Euphoria, and the kiosk downstairs all jumped at the opportunity to help me find body jewelry. Im sure it’s fine if you want to grab yourself a shirt and walk up the counter, but if you need to have locked up merchandise, you need to be proactive to helping people access it to buy it."
"I hesitantly write this review because it will embarrass me (again). I've been a customer at various Spencer's for years. I always enjoy a casual browse whenever I pass one of their stores. Sometimes I find cute things (like the Care Bears beanie I am wearing in my current profile pic). Today was a different story. Initially I went in search of a gift, but after not finding anything I wandered into the 'adult' section. I picked up a small flogger, lightly testing it on my (lower) fully covered leg. I can assure you, there was no inappropriate intent, just curiosity about the product's quality. I did not loudly smack myself or get frisky. Suddenly, I was scolded by an employee. Instead of a polite correction, I was met with a loud public reprimand. I understand retail can be challenging, & I truly sympathize with that. What disappointed me was the lack of tact & understanding displayed in this situation. While I comprehend the need for store rules, I felt unnecessarily humiliated. A simple, private conversation would have sufficed, instead she stood in a doorway several yards away from me (far enough she had to yell) with her arms folded. If I wasn't noticed before, the whole back of the store was now alerted (in all caps, but I'll spare you). "Please do not try merchandise out on yourself!" The other employees, on the other hand, were kind & helpful, reminding me of the service I used to associate with Spencer's. I share this experience not to bash the store but in hopes that it prompts a reconsideration of how customers are approached, especially in delicate situations like these. I'm assuming this person was a key holder or management of some type, so thought it was okay to yell. It was not okay to yell at me."
