"We stopped at the French River Wayside stop just to look around a bit. Easy access, nice off Hwy. small gravel parking lot with a porta-potty. The lot is suitable for a short stop, a hike, maybe, but not overnight parking. The views were good and anytime there's an opportunity to park safely and just look at the water for a time, its great. It was a plus that there was a freighter leaving the harbor. It is possible to go down to the lake's edge and also under the bridge to the other side, but I chose not to. Located just 13-miles along Hwy.61 out of Duluth."

"Stopped to take a look at scenery and river bed and stretch my legs from driving. Beautiful view from parking area...walkway down to river bed and under highway to other side, but I didnt go that far. Very small covered picnic area at one end of small parking lot."

"Super gorgeous look out place to stop. Beautiful view and very nice structure and walk to fish spawning area. However, and I say huge However the portable potty stalls were utterly horrible and disgusting. Have never seen such trashed out portable potties as these, even at huge fairs. City of Duluth should be ashamed and embarrassed by this. Wish I'd taken pictures because you wouldn't believe it."
