"Kevin and In Velo Veritas are the absolute best! I like to ride bikes but I also don't really know anything about bikes. I generally find bike shops to be cold, unwelcoming, stressful, manly, and intimidating places. I avoid going to them at all costs. IVV is not that at all! It's a lovely shop in historic Old Sac with lots of bright lighting. If you're an awkward person and unfit for human consumption, there's lots of stuff to look at and poke while you wait. I brought my bike in for a tune-up and Kevin was so helpful. I told him I know 0 things about bikes, and he said that's ok, and to just give him an idea of what I think is wrong so he can start taking a look, which was so nice. Most bike shops look at me like I'm an idiot. I was gone for a few weeks and when I got back, the shop was not open that day for me to pick up my bike. I was a little bummed, but I emailed Kevin asking when a good time would be to grab my best friend, and he said to come in the next day (while they were still closed) to grab her. In Velo Veritas is a bike shop for everyone, whether you're a n00b or someone who is experienced and could build yourself a brand new bike while blindfolded and with your hands tied behind your back. Kevin is incredibly lovely and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for not knowing things or for asking questions. Also ask him about his cat, Zoom."
