"Brought my cat in for fluid in his stomach, which we found out at the ER visit. Vet was extremely condescending and rude. After conducting an ultrasound, the only thing the vet said was that my cat would need to be euthanized. I did not disagree with this, still not an easy thing to hear especially when the veterinarian is clearly so miserable. However, this vet failed to mention that her and her team had discovered a mass in his ultrasound. Not a single word about it, straight to euthanasia. It was in the report that was discovered by another vet, but not discussed. Before deciding to put my cat to sleep 100%, I took him to a vet hospital in Davis where they discovered that information had been withheld. This vet took x-rays and sent them to be read. Had I found out about the mass at VCA and time had been taken to explain the causes of a mass, I would have gotten x-rays at VCA. I had answers in Davis within the hour of the appointment and absolutely no wait time. I have given VCA Mueller two stars as they were quick to see my cat and was able to drain his stomach to make him more comfortable. Amber, the vet tech, also earned a star. She was obviously busy, but still took what little time she had to be kind and considerate. This review was not made out of pain or anger because my cat has passed. It was going to happen either way. Price was not considered in this assessment as I had and still have no issue with the amount I spent. I quite honestly couldn’t even tell you if it’s more expensive than other places. It’s the lack of empathy and is a fair assessment."
"We first brought our cat Elita to VCA Mueller because they were the only available ER when she was refusing to eat and was lethargic. We had concerns for months but her doctor at Banefield had been focused on her weight despite her already being on a strict diet and being a big fuzzy cat (she had already lost 3 pounds since we adopted her and was around 12-13 lbs consistently on her diet). The staff was always professional and considerate and were able to figure out she needed B-12 and a prescription food. Elita turned around immediately and we enjoyed over two more years with her after that serious health scare. Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2024, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The staff was always patient with my questions during this difficult time and Doctor Harris was always great. When we had to say goodbye, they were very considerate and kind during this process and helped us since we could not take her for cremation until the following morning. While somewhere like Banefield is cheaper, I know that by bringing my cats to VCA Mueller, they were getting the care they needed and my other cat will continue to be cared for by them. Do keep in mind this is an ER facility so it is busy but the staff has always done their best for us and, I’m sure, other clients."
"0STARZ. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.UNPROFFESIONAL AND RUDE. I KNOW ITS LONG BUT PLS RESD IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BRINGING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. I have a 15year old healthy chihuahua , acts as if still a puppy and never had health issues or concerns. When taking him to the groomer they said they didn’t want to express his anal glands due to some swelling he had in that area, they told me it looks like it may be a ruptured anal gland so this is what I stated my concern was taking him to the vet. My first problem at this location was I was told it wasn’t busy if I wanted to be seen but sat and waited in the waiting room for 3 1/2 hours while they had my 15 year old chihuahua waiting in the back kennel without even being seen once. Me and my husband watched multiple people come in and out overhearing their visit which was not a serious time urgent apt at all but maybe one.(ex teeth cleanings, etc) I finally asked the receptionist for a refund and my dog back because it was clearly a waste of time they haven’t bothered to see my dog even though they took him from me. Of course once I asked for a refund they told me they would see my dog now and said I can move to the next room to speak to the vet... Still waiting 20-30 minutes again because they haven’t even seen him yet. As soon as the vet stepped in she did not once ATALL address the concerns I came for. She automatically told me my 15 year old dog needed to be tested for cancer because she was sure that was the problem . I told her that wasn’t even a concern that’s not what I came here for. She continued to ignore my concerns and insisted we needed to run the $1000 worth of different tests for cancer, we continued to get annoyed that she was insisting this with no proof other than his age and how “on the off chance” she was wrong, which was her exact words. so we denied everything and asked for my dog back so I can leave. We were then approached multiple times again insisting that we needed to at least purchase the medicine if not going to run the test and still no one is bringing me my dog and pushing the idea of cancer on to me and my husband to spend money for no reason at all. Finally they allowed us to leave after seeing we weren’t falling for this and FINALLY got my dog back after a long visit with no help at all or even discussion of what we brought him in for Me and my husband decided to visit a new vet called Abel pet clinic and thankfully Dr. O’Neal helped us. She was professional, reasonable and actually cared to address our problems, she told me that the thought of cancer would have never crossed her mind as there were no proof or signs of this in my healthy dog. Turns out it was only a hernia that doesn’t seem to bother him at all and doesn’t even require surgery unless it was much worse or started to bother him. I would prefer no copy and paste response of how this place apologizes for my visit and only recommends what they think is needed and only care for the animals well being because according to my visit, many other reviews and many other patients and even groomers this place is known for horrible animal care and only up charging and taking as much money as they can get, and trying to get over on me cuz I have an older dog. I know that no one will read this from the vet office and that no one will address my concerns, but hopefully someone that is thinking of brining their animal here for care will read this and rethink their decision because I promise you that you or your animal will not receive the care you are looking for here."
"I took my husky mix boi there for a emergency and they waited so long to help him because they were more interested in a payment. That he had to be put down by time they started treatment because his temperature was so high he cooked his brain."
"The staff here are beyond exceptional!! Definitely trust them with your pet’s life and you will not be disappointed. They are honest, compassionate, affordable, genuine, transparent with all costs/tests, and highly professional. The hospital is very large, absolutely beautiful, and clean! It looks like a regular people-hospital. They saved our K9 fur baby’s life. K9 Zuti is a working dog who became severely ill and would not have survived the night if it wasn’t for the interventions made by VCA Mueller’s ER treatment team. Prior to coming to this ER we took K9 Zuti to a different ER and were told that we had to pay a $6,600 deposit immediately for diagnostics or euthanize him. We decided to get a second opinion at VCA Mueller and are so glad we did! They have a very reasonable and affordable ER visit rate and they even met us outside with a stretcher. They showed extreme compassion from the first phone call we made to them. Our Zuti bonded with the staff during his 4-night stay, which was noted by his fierce tail wagging when they entered the room! They have beautiful and clean visiting rooms where you can see them anytime, day or night. We even went at 2am once; they were very accommodating and welcoming. They will love your pet just as much as you do! You will have peace of mind if you have to leave your fur baby in their care over night or for extended treatment. Thank you VCA Mueller for your professionalism and compassion that you demonstrated towards my family and K9 Zuti!!! We are forever in your debt!"
