"Okay so I was hard on this place because of a frustration over an interaction with a staff member. But it is a lovely place. I just wish they'd offer coffee to guests. We had a lovely time. And you can tell the staff here really cares. Which is rare anymore these days."

"We booked with the DoubleTree Hilton last minute. Our stay at this hotel couldn't have been better. Our check in was quick with a warm cookie to start our stay. We were offered the option to be close to or further from the elevator. I don't think it would have mattered because even near the elevator the operation of it and hallways were quiet. The King room was very spacious with plenty of room to stretch out on the lounge or the work at the desk. We had a view of the Kohl Center where we were to watch the hockey game. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom. Lets start with the cozy bed. Firm but not too much so, and the crisp sheets with soft cuddly pillows and blankets. I wanted to stay another night just so I could stay in the bed. I haven't slept that well in quite some time much less to say away from home. Then came the morning shower. There was pleasantly scented shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion. The water pressure in the shower was to die for and I didn't want it to end. After a good nights sleep and a warm, relaxing shower all the stresses from home melted away. Because of our busy schedule we didn't have time to eat at the hotel restaurant but I'm sure it would have been as good as what we did experience within the hotel. If we come to downtown Madison again this will be our first choice to stay."

"One of the best Hilton properties I've stayed at. Period. Scrupulously clean. Amenities are all up to date. Excellent restaurant within the hotel. Staff unfailingly polite and professional. The gym is completely top notch. Zero complaints from me. Bonus - bar serves Starbucks coffee."
