"This place is just AMAZING! We have been here for almost 6 months now and I get to love this place more each day. It’s a perfect environment for a family and the stuff is incredible. Dee has helped us with the leasing and she has been wonderful since day one, which it made our experience great since the beginning. Another very nice lady (who I forgot her name unfortunately) helped us when we had questions. John, the maintenance king, he is so incredible, we requested to take a look on our sink and he did so much more, looked on every issue we possibly had and helped us even with giving us advices and all, it was amazing, and always with a smile and great vibe. I loved it!!! This place deserves much more than 5 stars. Thank you all for helping us to get the best vibe to live great and peacefully!"
"The maintenance team came out to take a look at my oven after hours. The response was quick and it allowed me to use my appliance immediately. Thanks for great customer service!"
"Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Eaves. I would highly recommend living here if that is an option for you! tl;dr: every complex has its issues but I think the pros outweigh the cons. Biggest pro is the staff, biggest con is the parking situation. Pros: The saff, maintenance to admin, is responsive and helpful! I don't think there was a single time where we had any issues with the folks here. Emails sent to the community are informative, helpful, and important to read. It is a very chill area and I felt safe during my stay. I would say the normal rules of safety apply, like don’t go out at 3 am, avoid dimly lit areas, and travel with a buddy. Otherwise, nothing really happens besides the occasional police/emergency services activity. It is a 15-20 minute drive from everything (Hillcrest, Downtown, Santee, Northpark, UCSD, the beaches, Costco, and Convoy St.) with no traffic. Having access to the 805, 163, 8, and 15 are all great when you need to get somewhere and the complex is right in the middle of them. The 40 (or 41, I can't remember) bus route has a stop really close and it goes through Clairemont all the way to UCSD and back. Our unit had a larger garage which was great for storage. The pool and hot tub area is really nice and was recently upgraded around January 2023. You are just close enough where the air is still cool from the ocean. Not a homogenous place, there is a lot of diversity (families, units with roommates, elderly folk, young people, college aged people, racially and ethnically diverse). Pros/Cons depending: Not that neighborly of a place, for the most part people keep to themselves but will chat with you if they are walking their dogs or something (lots of dogs owners and everyone walks their dogs after work). A good amount of children in the complex, they can be loud at times, but if you have children they may be able to find a few friends. I feel like the mix between long term renters and short term renters is similar. Cons: Moldy walls and windows from moisture that is let in through the windows (that's a San Diego/Old building issue though) so be prepared to clean more often in the Winter/Spring months. Lots of bugs. Bath clogged at least once a month even with using a mesh catch for the drain. There is drainage that has standing water right outside the patio where mosquitoes breed. Lack of natural light given the trees, first floor, and orientation of the windows. Very small patio area, not much privacy or room in that area either (plus the mosquitos make it not a nice place to hangout). Thin walls and floors so you hear your neighbors conversations. Ours fought a lot and you could hear every word if they were loud enough. Parking in the area is really bad. You have two spots (the garage and the driveway) and people will block your driveway frquently. Our driveway was blocked by someone 1-2 times a month. Plus street parking is really limited. Be prepared to walk a bit if you have more than two cars. Very little walkability in the area; there is a gas station, 7/11, and small taco shop that is walkable but that's it. The adjacent neighborhood is kind of nice but there are no large green spaces, besides the small park in the complex, that are nice to walk to. Very small gym, like a hotel gym, to workout in that feels too full with 5 people in it. The road has seen better days and gets really bad potholes during heavy rains. No fireplace in our unit. The batteries on the lock can come out of their places if the door gets shut too hard which will mean you are completely locked out. Make sure you check that it has power before locking it behind you or have your roommate let you in if that happens. Otherwise, you'll have to have maintenance come and break the lock off to let you in. Street lights flicker on and off and aren’t that reliable. 2022-2023 cost breakdown: Three people in 2br/1ba, 18 month lease, unit 8035, in-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, ~900 sqft, rent $2,640/month, $55 for AT&T 5G, $12/month for renters insurance, $240/month gas, trash, water depending on the month."
"All the reviews say that maintenance at Eave's Mission Ridge is very fast and done very well and I definitely agree. We had a pipe burst under the foundation of our kitchen and John along with Cesar and all of the other plumbers managed to evaluate the leak same night and begin repairs immediately. Less than a week later all the work is done like nothing happened. Very professional, respectful, and tidy while doing a good job quickly. 10/10"
"Been here a couple weeks, and I'm glad we were able to grab this apt. The staff has been extremely helpful with moving in. My family relocated from another state due to military orders. Without being able to visit the premises prior to moving in, we expressed our concerns to Claudia and she understood exactly what we needed. She walked us through the entire process, from application to move-in, all while we were located in a different time zone. I am beyond grateful for her level of service, commitment and assistance. My family was able to settle into our home quickly after arriving in San Diego. The apt itself is very spacious with a beautiful white brick wall as one side of the living room. It is also a bit older with constant outdoor spider visitations. I don't know how those crawlers get in, but maybe that's everywhere in San Diego. You can't escape spiders! ;)"
