Motel 6 San Diego, CA - North

"Sadly, this hotel has not only fell into disrepair, the cleanliness of the room I was assigned was poor. The toilet seat had a noticeable spot of feces on it, and the bowl inside had some as well. The A/C unit was smashed and had sharp parts exposed. No bag for ice. The ice bucket was filthy inside. 1 bath towel. They never have towels and have to go Downtown to get some from their location there. Remote control was sticky. Stained sheets. I will never return."

"These housekeepers do the bare minimum of cleanliness and basic sanitation which I find foul&appalling. Stains all over the walls, build up dust and hair everywhere especially where they stock the towels, old plus new spider webs under bed and ceiling, mold on shower curtains and in the shower drain, don’t get me started on the floor overall they do everything but clean here. New management doesn’t seem to make it any better."

"This is in my top 3 worst places I have ever stayed in my life. Nothing was clean. The surfaces were dirty from spilled drinks, the floor was hardly even swept with a broom, hair and dirt everywhere upon arrival, there was a random bandaid on an outlet, hand prints on the head board, and worst of all cigarette burns on the sheets. The grounds were full of trash and generally it felt unsafe. Heat did not work, and one night got very cold around 2am. Luckily the other night was warm so it ended up not being an issue. The only plus is that the staff was friendly and accommodating. It wasn’t even a savings compared to nicer places, I was paying $95 per night. I would recommend looking elsewhere, cleanliness was not even a consideration."

"Go read my yelp review to see photos... Hands down the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It all started when the front desk guy lied to me in person versus what he told me over the phone. I asked him around 2:00 p.m. could I check in early, and he thought about it then said "sure you can check in early," and I told him I'll be on my way. When I showed up, I told him I was the girl on the phone who wanted to check in early, and he said yeah of course and then he proceeded to get everything together. Then he told me it was going to be $20 if I wanted to check in early. He omitted that over the phone and tried to play me in person by upcharging me. I told him no and that lying to guests like that is not right, and he said come back in 30 minutes. WOW! I hate dishonest people and would have left if I hadn't already made the reservation. That left a sour taste in my mouth. When I got in my room, his aura matched the room because it was the dirtiest hotel room I've ever set foot in. I literally went to my car to get small trash bags so I could walk around in the hotel room because there were crumbs, dead bug skeletons, and stains all over the floor. The bathroom was something out of a horror movie. I did the disabled room, and It looked like somewhere you tortured someone, and it's easy to clean up after. The toilet, sink, and shower merged together as one. It was bizarre! It was really old, severe paint peeling and falling apart. I wore trash bags in the shower as well. It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, and I wanted to cry staying there. I slept sideways on the edge of the bed because there were stains on the sheets at the top part. The tv had static and was old and barely worked. In order to get the heater to work, there were directions on how I needed to shimmy it a specific way for it to turn on. Like I said, the level of service in the beginning matched the room, and I can not recommend this hotel to anybody in light of that. -100 out of 10. 100% won't return"

"The transition between previous owners has been successful. They are doing remodeling, and made additions including fridges in every room (old owners didn’t have fridges in every room) and expanding the cable package. You don’t pay any parking, and the location is the most safe and most convenient out of all the motel 6’s in San Diego. The prices are consistent and competitive."
