"I’ve been living in the community for over a year now, and I absolutely love it here!! Not only do I feel safe and secure at anytime day or night walking my dog, I can also enjoy the beautiful landscaping and walk areas. The weekly food trucks and resident events are a bonus!! The maintenance team have always been quick and super efficient and the leasing office from the start has been incredible."

"Parking here is the hunger games. Do yourself a BIG favor and try to find guest parking on a Fri/Sat night. Do not let them try to show you parking during the day, especially M-F. It will not be representative of the parking reality. I was a visitor and truly exhausted my attempt at finding guest parking, so parked at the front of the building, which resulted in my car being towed, which completely threw the alignment out of whack. They're going to respond here with 'I don't see you as a resident blah blah blah.' and that's right, i'm writing as a visitor. You as a potential resident should STRONGLY consider the availability of guest parking, specifically that there is none."

"Just moved in a week ago - coming from the Chicago suburbs! It was quite an epic move for us and after looking at 20+ other complexes in the county, Portofino is where we absolutely wanted to be. We were thrilled when a 2 bed 2 bath became available. Taylor was amazing from the first time we met her, throughout the process and getting our keys from the Luxer lockers on a Sunday when we arrived with our moving truck to move in. The landscaping and neighborhood here are absolutely stunning. I love Italy and it truly has that vibe - even several little water fountain features spread throughout the neighborhood. Lots of shade for those hotter days (which I'm assured are only really Aug-Oct). This place has garages (although small, still very nice to have!) so much storage in the units and additional outdoor parking. The only downside is no elevators... and when moving to a 3rd floor unit, that really stinks! But we hired some help and it was doable. I'm definitely getting a daily workout just walking the dog! But it's really not too bad overall. There are 1st floor units if the stairs just aren't possible for someone. The pool, gym, hot tub, office area, lounge are all fabulous. Several options for grilling outside too. It's a very pet-friendly community with lots of other dogs. There's a dog park in the community behind ours that you can access too. It's been really fun to explore. Love the convenient tunnel that offers easy access to Costco, Lowes, IKEA and lots of little restaurants just under Friars road. This has been the perfect spot to relocate from the Midwest and ease into San Diego. It's gated and feels very safe. Again, the landscaping is amazing. It's really what stood out - that and the garage and spacious closets in the units. They seem to really keep things nice so far and we're thrilled to be here. I'd give it 5 stars if there were elevators :) I suppose that's what makes this even more authentic to actual Italy though!"
