Reviews
"I have lived at Vera Cortez for two years now and have nothing but good things to say! I love all of the amenities - my favorites being the gym, pool and hot tub (just to name a few). The apartments themselves are also very spacious and pet friendly! The leasing team is always helpful and quick to respond. We had the privilege to work one on one with Samantha who upgraded us to a brand new apartment with top of the line appliances and a second balcony free of charge! I would definitely recommend this building as I feel they could accommodate any lifestyle."
"At Vera Community, Samantha Stark is the resident manager. With regards to leases, rents, and other related questions, she is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. When you have concerns about your unit, you can always speak with her and she will listen to you. I have lived in the building for ten years. Residents sometimes become frustrated and leave the community because they feel that they are not being listened to. The process takes time. It is imperative for you to remember that you are not the only tenant in the building. There are hundreds of them. She may not be able to provide an immediate solution, but she will still take the time to listen to your concerns. She understands that the process takes time and that patience is needed. She is there for you and wants to make sure that everyone's needs are met. In a nutshell, Samantha will do everything in her power to assist you, provide you with comfort, and work with you during your lease renewal process. Samantha worked with me during the renovation of the Vera Community. As a result, she provided me with the best and most reasonable price, which enables me to remain a tenant for another year. Samantha takes the time to understand each individual tenant's needs and works hard to find the best solution for everyone. She is also knowledgeable about the local market and can provide valuable insight into the best terms for a lease renewal. This personal touch and dedication to helping tenants makes her an invaluable asset to the Vera Community."
"Update 12/24/23: Roaches in my apartment & on my floor. Plus, I was out of town today & the fob I gave to my cat sitter stopped working, so she had to rely on the goodwill of others to get up to my apartment to check on my cat. The awful things to deal with here never end. Update 11/10/23: Unfortunately, I’ve been informed that the repairs MIGHT be done by next Friday, which means my apartment will have been a construction zone with no kitchen, guest bath, or privacy for over a month. Throughout this ordeal, I’ve encountered my front door being left unlocked multiple times when no one was in the unit, disrespectful & unhelpful communication from management (they will straight up lie to you), disruptive noise, mess left behind by construction workers, & an overall inability to mantain a normal living situation. How I miss feeding myself properly, having friends over, or simply having the ability to watch tv in my living room in peace. This experience has been a true nightmare, & I eagerly anticipate moving out as soon as possible. My advice? RUN from this place, & definitely don't give them your hard earned money!! OP: I'd wait until I moved out to leave a review, but after what happened today, I need to warn others. I’m out of town & have someone checking on my cat. When she got to my apartment, keys were left in the door (not mine; I always use the code) & the door was left unlocked. Maintenance was scheduled for today, but no one was inside the apartment. So, my door was left unlocked by maintenance for anyone to enter, steal, or hide in my apartment. I feel so unsafe & violated, & now I’ll feel anxious for the rest of my trip. No one should feel this way about their home. Find a safer place to live! Edit 10/31/23: I’m updating my review because things have gotten much worse. I returned from my trip to multiple people in my apartment, starting to tear out the kitchen & the guest bath. I was shocked but was told it was an emergency due to a leak. That was on October 17th & two weeks later, my apartment still looks like the photos attached & there is no end in sight. I was told maintenance would be working on the 21st, the 23rd, & the 24th, but no one was in to do any work on those days. My guest bath & the kitchen are still blocked off, & the dining room is filled with rubble. The machines are constantly going, so I've been forced to live in only the master bedroom & bathroom, even moving my living room TV into that room to escape the noise. My friend who's been staying with me this week has had a difficult time sleeping in the guest room because the machines make the rooms warmer & there isn't a lot of circulation. I'm unable to cook or do anything to prepare meals for myself. Also, I work from home & constantly deal with the noise of construction and the machines, even the master bedroom door opening whenever they slam the front door, which takes away from any privacy. I finally broke down & booked an Airbnb for a couple of nights to catch a break & have space to relax with my friend. When I returned today, damage had been done to the front door lock (pictured) but no progress on the “emergency renovations.” It’s unbelievable that I feel the need to escape my own home when I’m paying over $3,500/month, unable to even move through my apartment without going through the patio. They don’t care about their residents to force them to live like this, & if this were indeed an emergency, it would be worked on to completion. They’ve also left me passive-aggressive messages in my own home (pictured.) I’m completely appalled with how this has been handled & how I’ve been lied to multiple times. The staff has reached out to me but has, at best, been unhelpful & at worst, been incredibly rude & dismissive. I’ll be moving out ASAP. Edit 11/2/23: Today I had a random maintenance man enter my apartment while I was showering due to another “emergency” because 2.5 weeks later they still haven’t solved the problem. I’m disgusted at how I’ve been robbed of all privacy in my own home."
"I have lived here for three years and the experience has been fantastic. All issues that have arisen are promptly taken care of by the leasing office and/or maintenance personnel. I have also only had pleasant interactions with all of the staff. I am proud to say that I will be upgrading to one of the newer units. Samantha has been crucial in the upkeep of the building and the morale of the tenants. We are blessed to have a building manager as talented as Samantha."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. They are fully aware of the rats, fully aware of the homeless that shower and bathe themselves in the pool/hot tub DAILY, fully aware of the lack of security. HIGHLY disappointed in such a disgusting management team. Evil evil people. Terrible communication with all the renovation and TERRIBLE renovation at that. I’d rather be homeless than live here again. There’s garbage cans that are cleaner than this place!!! Please don’t ignore these reviews BECAUSE THEY ARE VALID. THE RATS DESERVE A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE THAN HERE. SAMANTHA IS A TERRIBLE PROPERTY MANAGER!"
