Reviews
"Review South Shore Apartments is right next to Alameda’s Crown Beach. I can’t think of a better place if you desire luxury as well as proximity to nature and sports without sacrificing convenience. The service I received from Jett and Krista of their leasing team, on the other hand, stood out even more. They were 100% courteous and professional from beginning to end; explained everything in detail, always prompt in responding and never impatient with my many questions. They found me an apartment that I liked and worked with me to get me the best price for it. They are exemplary of what excellent customer service should be."
"I wanted to live here several months before leaving an honest review. First off - Jonathan provided a wonderful tour before we moved in! Something that surprised us was the fact that you have to pay every utility. That wasn’t full explained to us. Gas, water, hot water fee, trash, sewer, etc. not sure why trash & sewer are separate & water & hot water are separate. But expect to pay an extra $200-$300/month in utilities. As for theft - someone tried breaking into the Amazon lockers but the facility fixed everything and updated security. Other than that no issues. We haven’t really had any issues with random people using the facilities, parties, or noise. But it could be our location. Our unit is nice, updated, and with a fantastic view! However, the building is still old so certain issues have happened like water leaks in windows. But the services team are pretty quick to respond. You can’t beat the location!"
"We have been living here for about a month and have been so happy with every aspect of our new home! The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Jonathan was informative every step of the way. We’ve had a good experience with maintenance. It’s a great location and our building is quiet at night. I feel secure in our building. Nice neighbors..great amenities. We have one of the best views in the complex. Couldn’t ask for more!"
"Don't move here if you want your packages stolen! The package room is broken into at least once per week. I've had hundreds of dollars worth of items stolen. They also forcibly renovated the decks few years ago (basically we had no access for 4 months) and still have failed to install an outlet and light on our deck, so we've had an exposed live wire for several years that they still haven't fixed. That didn't stop them from increasing our rent by a couple hundred last month. They also don't stick to their promises. For example, when they were renovating the apartments a few years ago, they sent a notice stating to remove all bikes and items from the garage by a certain date. Of course, 3 days BEFORE that date, they trashed/threw out/stole all of the bikes from the bike rack in the garage, including my $250 folding bike. Don't forget about the $50 monthly trash fee and $80 water and sewer fee and $20 hot water fee and $100 in parking and $10 in admin fees you have to pay every month. Cumulatively, they must be racking up at least half a mil in extra "fees" every year from all the residents. Add AT LEAST $250 to whatever "monthly rent" you are quoted to get the REAL price you'll be paying. Oh and the water/sewer/trash are divided up by building, so if fewer people happen to live in your building - you'll be paying more! Totally fair! Oh, and don't forget you'll be sharing the clubhouse and all the amenities with all the local high school kids and residents of the neighboring condominiums! I had to call 911 a few weeks ago due to a raucous 100+ person party that was being thrown there. The people who live in the next door condos also come over and frequently use the pool deck and grill. It's great paying high rent so that non-residents can use your amenities. I have lost HUNDREDS of dollars of items unnecessarily by living here in this apartment complex. They're just here to get your money and don't care about you as a resident. We are looking for another place to live as soon as possible and I will continue to tell anyone I can about the terrible management at this building. I will say that the ONLY redeeming qualities about this place are: nice location and the regular maintenance workers are friendly. Attached photos: -broken in mail room with torn open packages -broken mail room lock -example of monthly fees charged -line of high schoolers trying to break into the clubhouse -Homeless man bathing in hot tub several times per week"
