"Spent one night in a room with two beds. Convenient location, with quick access to Hwy 101 and the Del Monte Shopping Center across the street. Smaller, older property, with for us, a clean room and a friendly and helpful manager, Andy. The walls were thin, at times we could hear talking, coughing, the TV, and even a dog barking, but later at night, or with our TV on, there were no problems. The location made for easy freeway access, and quick trips to Carmel, the 17 Mile Drive, Point Lobos, and even Seaside. For us, the price was good, the property was cute, and the room was clean, they even had bottled water and granola bars in the room. We will definitely be back."
"We recently spent two nights at this charming and centrally-located Monterey motel. Our room was clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and Andy (the owner), and the the workers were friendly, professional, and accommodating! Also, even though this motel was on a main thoroughfare, it was very quiet in our first-floor room. And speaking of our room (#11), it was most unique with a spa and shower in the corner of the room. A gas fireplace added to the ambience (circa 1980s), but it was good for a chuckle, and I'm sure good in other ways for some guests! Apparently, and for good reason, this room is a favorite of some repeat visitors. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and a pleasant surprise at this motel. I give it a "Five" for it's comfort, quiet, and hospitality, combined with the reasonable price...a true value!"
"This was by far the WORST experience. If you have kids, do not stay here. It is NOT kid friendly, at all. It was 8pm and my kids were having a little rough time getting down, and we got a noise complaint 2 nights in a row. They were down and quiet before 9pm. The owner was very rude. Rooms are also not as advertised. If you are looking for a cute updated room, chances are you won’t get one. AC is here but doesn’t work, hence my crying baby and toddler. It got up to 85 in the room. It wasn’t clean. When I brought these complaints to the owner he literally shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say much except “yeah we don’t really advertised”. Do NOT stay here."
"I've stayed at dirtier more poorly kept places that cost more. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Large variations in the rooms. For example, room 7 is nicer than room 2. Most stays in Monterey are pretty expensive because it's probably one of the most beautiful places on the planet."
