"This is one of the most cool, creative, and innovative spaces I have ever stayed at in California! Every detail of every room is crafted with cool local art, the staff is friendly, informative, and friendly. I met a group of really cool travelers that will become life long friends. The general manager Ryan was clearly passionate about this place and had extensive knowledge of the area and attractions. I highly recommend staying here. Especially with how expensive the central coast is, this makes traveling to the area more accessible to young travelers like myself!"

"I had a lovely stay at the new hostel. The outdoor area was great on a sunny day, and the rooms were cute, colorful, and comfortable. The hostel is walking distance to the ocean and many stores and restaurants. I look forward to staying again!"

"I had a wonderful stay at Monterey Hostel. The newly renovated building looks absolutely beautiful and the murals and decor make it a super bright and fun space. My room was clean and very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed for my basic cooking needs. I also really appreciated the complimentary coffee station. The location is perfect: close to the aquarium, coastal trail, and tons of coffee shops and restaurants. I highly recommend staying at the Monterey Hostel when you visit!"

"Having never stayed in a hostel I have been pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and sense of community. Ryan, the executive director, has done a great job making this dream come true. If you stayed here before its closing you must come back to see the renovations. You probably won’t recognize it! The building has come a long way and is definitely doing its part in neighborhood beautification and affordable lodging. The location of the hostel is so convenient to anything you can possibly need, any food you can imagine, neighborhood grocery, Starbucks and drugstore. Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are close by and all within walking distance. The central location also makes it an easy drive to sightsee up and down the beautiful coastline. I would definitely recommend a visit!!!"
