"Stayed 2 nights last week. We asked for two beds and when we got to the room there was a bed and a small couch that luckily I was able to fit on. And although this site shows $160 a night we were charged over $200 a night. We enjoyed the breakfast and would have appreciated having a bell hop surface as we're both elderly and had to transport an oxygen machine."

"We had a terrible AirBNB experience and found Hotel Abrego — It was truly our saving grace! The hotel front desk personnel was so sweet and accommodating and even offered us a free upgrade! Our room was so cozy, quiet and had everything we needed! We loved our stay and hope to be back soon!"

"This hotel is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are updated and spacious. We had a cozy fireplace in ours and loved it. The breakfast was delicious. They had a good variety, so any picky person can at least find something to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location. Close to Fisherman's wharf and Cannery Row."

"I arrived right at check-in (4:00) and waited about 20 minutes to be checked in (understandable, as several parties arrived at the same time). When I got to my room I realized I didn't have soap or cups, so called down to the front desk to get some. Someone brought some and I had him look at my fireplace because it didn't seem to be working. It had a very dim flame and wasn't responding to me trying to turn it up. He looked at it and said he thought this room's fireplace didn't work too well, and that that was as high as it would go. A bit disappointing since I booked a room with a fireplace specifically to enjoy it on my trip. I went down to the bar for my glass of wine ($20 resort fee includes wine, parking, and breakfast, which is a good deal!). I ordered my wine and some food at the bar and was told to sit anywhere and he'd bring them to me. I sat out on the patio and 20 minutes later went in to ask about my order as no one had come out (again, kind of understandable, the patio is a bit out of sight for the bartender). He gave me my wine, and my food arrived another 20 minutes after that. Breakfast was nice, simple but a good deal. The parking lot is VERY tight -- I drive a sedan and had to 3 point turn to get into a spot. The hotel itself is nice and reasonably priced, but the room I got and the service was a bit subpar."

"Great location close to most attractions in Monterey and just north enough to beat traffic after a long weekend. Love the fireplace in the room, but the rest of the room layout was a little strange (a sink in the bathroom and in the room?). Overall, very pleasant stay and the late checkout is a huge plus!"
