"One of the best Thai restaurants in Madison. Everything my family and I ordered was very good. Chicken pot stickers, papaya salad (som tum), yellow curry, kana moo krob, and pad kaprao moo with kai dao (fried egg). Very friendly service and a varied menu. I will definitely eat at Thai Basil again. Get there early because it fills up fast."

"Excellent lunch at Thai Basil! The owner came and chatted with us at our table and gave us the history. If you recall that another Thai restaurant used to be here just know that Thai Basil and the old restaurant are not related and Thai Basil is more of a sit down, wait service restaurant, not a carry-out place (though of course you can order to carry out). Thai Basil’s owners spent 1 year renovating the space and it looks quite nice. Not overly formal but also fresh and neat feeling. The music is cool Thai pop, creating a fun atmosphere. The crowd is younger. Good place for a date away from downtown but still close in. The biggest surprise is how great the food is! This is beautiful, upscale Thai food with a lot of attention to detail at just a bit higher prices than a carry-out type place. We will be back for sure!"
