"Worst Service ever. I sent my application 2 months back for a passport renewal. A few days later they asked me for another document which I sent (this was a month and a half back). They say on that document for more than 2 weeks before they sent my application to the embassy after 2 calls (at some really expensive charges). After that the status was not updated for a month, so I called them again and they said it is under review. Another week later, I call them again and this agent tells me they since are waiting for the same document from me. I argued that it was already send weeks ago, she later comes back and tells me that it was her mistake and she did not see the application correctly(I am paying for the call by minute for her not able to do her job well and read the application correctly). I still don’t have my passport after so many weeks and will be charged for their employees incompetency. Worst customer service ever!!! Please do not use this service and try to contact the embassy directly. It’s frustrating to deal with such people and pay the price!"

"I submitted an application for reissue of passport and few days later they asked for three more documents which I sent. Then I received another email requiring additional documents. Tried calling VFS and spent $$ on phone call as it’s so expensive to call them and they said they will contact passport application center and will get back to me but I didn’t get any email or call until today. And by that time my 20 day time period will be over and they will cancel my application. So disappointed. Still waiting for an answer on how to proceed."

"If you have an emergency and need a visa to India, this is the first place to be. The staff was very helpful and responsive. Especially, Amit was awesome, he helped us get the application corrected and get it to the consulate in time. The staff moved quickly and got us the paperwork to take to the consulate and we were able to obtain the visa the same day. We initially went to the consulate and they forwarded us to the VFS. We were frustrated initially because all the numbers on the consulate website for emergency do not work/unresponsive. The CGISF should update their website and specify the correct process for emergency visa. Anyhow, the VFS folks made things easy for us."

"If you have a need to work with VFS Global for any passport needs, just step in here if you’re in the bay. It’s better than to opt the post service and face the awfully expensive calls to talk to customer care. My appointment was at 11.30AM and was done by 11.50AM. Quick service and you know right away if you are to bring additional documents. You’re only allowed 15 min before your appointment. So, be ready to wait in the cold if you go early. Once you’re outside, there is a phone to call them up from outside to gain access. I recommend the in-person appointments. Update: Received my passports in 6 days as I have applied in tatkal. Don’t think it’s needed, just go with standard in person and you will get it in 3 weeks. Tatkal is additional $150."
