"You will speak to one of two consulars: one is very pleasant even though there is nothing they can do to help you; the other one is a sadist."
"I lost my passport at the airport and urgently needed to fly internationally. I was able to get an emergency passport within 2 days! As a dual citizen, I would highly recommend this over the US emergency passport service."
"I needed an Emergency Travel Document last minute as my passport had less than 6 months left. Truly, everyone treated me like I mattered. Phone support was excellent and my visit to the Consulate was an absolute joy! I cannot thank you all enough. You make Britain Great, even in the United States! Tip of the hat to the Scottish lady who deals with commerce (Jaclyn?). You made my day, so exceptionally friendly. For 5 minutes I was “home again”. Truly you guys all made a huge difference in my world, thank you!"
"Good luck getting a. BRITISH individual on the phone to assist you regarding your student visa. Even if you call their embassy in DC, the staff are rude and unpleasant to talk to. They charge you money on the line ti literally not helping you out, literally It’s an scam! Imagine they are the face of their nation and how poorly representing their nation over here in the US."
"I needed an emergency travel document because my passport had expired, and I didn't realize until I was at SFO airport. My original flight was on a Saturday, which was unfortunate because this office is only open Mon-Fri. Anyhow, I booked an appointment online for the follow Tuesday (only booking available), but in responding to the email confirmation I got Sunday evening pleading for a Monday appointment (because my flight was at 5pm Monday), I was called on Monday morning around 8:30am confirming I could come in at 11am for an appointment (you can't get to the office without an appointment). The office is within the Citigroup Center building. Go to the reception and as long as you have an appointment they will let you up to the correct floor. They were happy with my carrying my bags up to the office. Once on the correct floor, find a door labeled '851 Consular Section' and there will be a counter with someone waiting for you inside. With all the correct documentation and a passport photo, I was given my emergency travel document within 30 mins of getting there."
