"The staff here is extremely kind, and though it says on Google that consulate closes at 12:30, if you have appointment you can come here at your scheduled appointment and they will honor it. Visa office is open even though it says that consulate is closed. There is a doorbell you can ring it and they will let you in. I would recommend coming bit early for your appointment because you might not get parking and finding parking can take sometime away from your scheduled appointment. I had appointment at 3, they took my appointment at 2:30 since I arrived early and all in it took 15 min. The staff here is extremely kind and helpful."

"I had a great experience at the consulate General of Italy office! The reason I gave it a 4 start is very hard to reach them by call for customer service. I booked an appointment online and I booked it at the wrong location. That was my fault I got to excited when I saw a appt available. I flew all the way from Washington to San Francisco so when they told me that my appointment is not scheduled here. Long story short: I’m happy they did everything to accommodate me on that day! They are great people!"

"Me and my husband had a tourist visa appointment at this consulate and it was such a smooth process. Their staff is really polite and helpful. Plenty of street parking around the block and seemed like a safe area. I also didn’t get the reviews about not getting appointment here because this consulate office don’t give dates, you have to book that online in a well advance which is of course not easy for any Schengen country."

"Went for the visa interview today with my husband. The staff were friendly and efficient. We waited for about 20 minutes before checking in as other people were being assisted. Once they got to us it took only 20 min to finish the entire process (review documents, typing in information, finger printing and getting the receipt). Make sure to prepare all documents according to the guidance posted on the consulate website and you’ll be good to go. The entrance to the visa interview room is on the side of the building. There is a door bell which you ring and they would let you in. The room is a bit small with only a few seats. You may not get a seat while waiting. We didn’t want to try our luck with street parking, so we parked in a garage 3 blocks away, and walked to the consulate-uphill all the way. Make sure to arrive a few minutes early and allow the time for the walk as it is quite steep. Document wise, it was listed on the website that an employment verification letter with dates of vacation is needed. My company uses the standard template for VOE letters and I was not able to add the dates there. But is was OK, they didn’t ask for that."
