Macy's 2559 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92008

"I have been a macys customer for 30 years, and I can’t believe what happened on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Macy’s in at the Carlsbad mall in Carlsbad California. I was there at 10 am on that day and the music playing on the intercom was SPANISH. What is happening! I hope this is not the new norm."

"Annette is incredibly rude and sarcastic with us. We were at the mall and one of the downstairs restrooms was closed, and the other had a huge line. Looking at the key/map, it looked like there was a restroom in Macy’s men’s department, which is where we went and ran into Annette. I asked if they had a restroom, and she said there was one downstairs. I asked her if she meant the one next to Zales, and she said she had “no clue” what I was talking about. I said, “the one by the jewelry store? We just came from there - is that the one you mean?” And she just kept looking at me like I was stupid, and then said, “This is Macy’s……” Like I don’t know that? Lol. Never having been to that mall, I don’t know where things are, and I expected to be helped out without her condescending attitude. I then asked what department it would be in, and she acted like she didn’t want to tell me lol it was bizarre. She then said it was in the home section, and I said yeah thanks I just want to know what I’m looking for. And she said, “you’re looking for the restroom….” lol so rude and ridiculous!!! I guess id be pretty pissed off too to be working at Macy’s on the weekend. Just sucks that she had to play games with a mom and her 8 year old daughter who almost peed her pants."

"Amy the manager at the juniors is so unhelpful, rude and gives inaccurate return information. I tried returning an item with no label and she said I can’t return bc I didn’t have that original packaging and it’s only 30 day return. That was incorrect as the Macys app let me even return even tho it was 30 days past date of purchase. I went to another cashier. The cashier in she shoe department was very helpful. She informed me that Macy’s Can look up the PCU (which I had in my original order email). Then I was able to return my item just fine. The first manager did NOT want to do her job or did not want to help me. She’s very rude - she just wanted me to go away and stop bothering. I’ma only rating it 2 stars due to the helpful cashier in the shoe department. She should be promoted to manager as she’s clearly more aware of store policies and is actually helpful."

"I’ve been shopping at Macys for over 30 years and have always liked their selections in the women’s department. I’m not sure who picks out what clothes to sell in the stores but they need to make a change, it’s starting to look like Walmart clothes. Also someone has decided to get rid of the women’s plus size department, this is horrible and in my opinion discrimination. Shame on Macys!"

"SaraMae assisted today with my shopping needs, creating outfits with her instinctive fashion sense, accompanied me to the shoe department, finding the exact right shoe for my outfit, suggesting another shoe that was flattering on my foot, plus it was on sale, accompanied me to the jewelry counter, finding the perfect earring to match for an upcoming party. She is outstanding, kind, conscientious and much more than a personal shopper! I was on a time crunch and she went above and beyond!! This is my first time in the Carlsbad location and I will go back. What a tremendous experience!"
