"Really great hotel with large rooms and a nice lounge. Overall enjoyable stay. Downside is the lobby smelled stingless of sewage during our stay. Additionally I was given an uncleaned room and had to be moved to a new room. I’ve never had that happen at a hotel of this caliber. I wasn’t offered any type of compensation for the issue."
"I travel for business quite often and was very pleased with this hotel. Great location with nice views of the river. Wonderful hotel with excellent service. Marcellus did an excellent job checking me in and seeing to it that I had everything I needed. The entire staff was very courteous. Sat at the bar and had a terrific dinner. The bartenders are very kind and attentive."
"We stayed here for four nights in September and we had a wonderful stay. The view from our room was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. In fact, one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago was a bar and a neighborhood Italian restaurant that Pete the bellman recommended. We will definitely be back."
"I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and accommodating front desk staff, making me feel at home with their amazing smiles and assistance in checking us in early. The lobby was stunning, and the rooms were really nice, complete with a luxurious rainfall shower. It was conveniently situated just a short walk away from a couple of restaurants. Since we paid extra for lounge access, we were pleased that despite missing out on the 20th-floor room due to our early check-in, we still had the anticipated privilege of enjoying the executive lounge. Additionally, while the bar didn't meet my expectations by not offering egg white whiskey sours, which was a letdown considering the level of service I anticipated, the overall experience remained positive. The room itself was fairly standard with two beds, but the highlight was definitely the rainfall shower. Our lounge access allowed us to enjoy the 5 pm "appetizers," which unfortunately turned out to be a letdown – featuring cold, dry chicken on a stick, salad, taco soup, cheese, crackers, and fruits. On the positive side, the fridge stocked with complimentary drinks 24/7 was a nice touch. We opted for the free breakfast in the lounge over the paid option, hoping it would justify the lounge access fee, and it almost did. The breakfast was basic hotel fare – bacon, eggs, sausage, toast, muffins, bagels, oats, but unfortunately lacking classic items like biscuits and gravy, which might be too far north for this region. Still, considering I might have spent $15-20 in the lobby restaurant, it was a win-win. The food quality was surprisingly good. The highlight was the breathtaking view from the 20th floor with a river view – something that could have easily made this a 5-star stay. Although we missed out on that aspect due to our early check-in, the lounge access we paid extra for enhanced our overall experience. These are minor "first world problems," but they did impact our stay. Overall, despite these nitpicks, I still highly recommend this hotel for your next Chicago trip."
"Rooms were spacious and clean (although a bit dated). The bed was very comfortable, but we noticed that our sink was cracked, our bathtub faucet leaked, and the closet doors wouldn’t close properly? The front desk people were very nice and friendly! I was very disappointed in the food quality - we ordered room service and ended up throwing half of it away. The veggie burger fell apart after one bite (felt like they took bean mash, molded a patty, and heated it up). The coffee bar was a bit of a bummer also - closed at noon, and had limited offerings (ex. unable to heat oat milk). I liked the stay overall but based on the price vs. room & food, I think there are better options in the area."
