"I've been living in the Briarcliff apartments for about 2 months. The overall environment has been great, there's no loud neighbors, people are mindful and we have a private storage in the basement. I moved in w my mother in-law to help w her daily life. Ever since moving in I've noticed one important problem... Unfortunately. One of the dryers in our complex has a hole in the lint trap. This is extremely dangerous for my family and the other residents. (Fire hazard) Other dryers take twice as long to dry medium sized loads and can't keep up w the demand of the complex."
"It depends on if managment decides to like you. This was back in 2010-2013. Different rules applied for different residents. Example: during the winter you are supposed to have your balcony cleared off. They recently became a non smoking apartment. However, you are supposed to be allowed to smoke on your balcony. Some people had chairs or a nice bench. They were told to remove or be fined. While the others had bikes, garbage, used it as storage and nothing was said. It boils down to if you are liked. Idk lol. Also rent increases but if you have a major issue maintenance will do a "quick job" nothing is ever replaced until a new tenant moves in....if they are lucky."
"If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is! They will try to lure you by giving "Move in Specials". Don't fall for it. The place would be a nice place to live, but unfortunately the staff - namely Debbie, is an absolute control freak. They will try to manipulate and own you. Here are some examples: You get in trouble for not reporting "damage" or "issues" immediately. You get notices slapped on your door for every minor little thing (a toy on the patio). You cannot have a life past 10pm - oh and if you call the police and they hear about it you get in trouble for that too (there are squatters and people who come on the property just to smoke weed ALL the time - yeah management doesn't care about that). You absolutely MUST move your cars off property during winter or they WILL tow you at your expense. They don't care if your car will not start. They show no - absolutely NO MERCY for late payments and will try to evict you any opportunity they can - even in winter. Oh and one more thing regarding the staff - THEY POST FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS!!! Chana January for example! Ok - the place itself. Very basic and outdated. NO overhead lights in rooms. NO thermostat! Almost impossible to keep the temperature regulated. Stove and fridge are old and need to be replaced and management will not update. Toilets run and make noise all the time. Ventilation in the bathroom when you turn on the light is even louder. Sound proofing is horrible - you will hear neighbors in the hallway and in the bedrooms all the time. The buzzer almost never works! The key lock to let you in the building is loose and you have to play with it for 5 minutes just to get inside - again management will not fix this. Oh, and the basement - for your precious keepsakes and storage - that floods when the snow melts or heavy downpour - and they don't care. Not a good place to live. I would give it a 0 star if I could."
"I had plan to review this apartment complex, but haven't had the time, but due to recent incidents, I decide to make time. Let's start with the superficial and move to the substantive. The exterior appearance is appealing and it does have control access, which is nice. Anderson park is just across the street, and located near a nice pave trail, there is also a community pool across the street, which is nice if you have kids. The interiors leave much to be desired for a apartment to be labeled a luxury apartment. It has the standard formica countertops, some type of vinyl composite flooring. It has one wall AC unit, which will only cool if it is left constantly running and all the bedroom doors are left open, and lights remain out. If you decide to cook, its over. Not to mention your utility cost as a result. Which was one of my largest issues, Please be prepared to spend approximately two hundred and fifty dollars per month minimum in electric utilities. They have antiquated electric baseboard heaters Which even if you run one to heat a single bedroom (Which I did) you'll still pay the minimum I stated earlier. The R-factor on these walls are practically non-existent. which contributes to hue heat and cooling loses, as well as the noise from every surrounding apartment. Pray for Good Neighbors! At over $800.00 per month, and an energy cost of approximately $250.00 per month and dealing with the management staff... find somewhere else to rent, or better yet, buy a home you'll save more money. The next few lines are related to a particular staff member whom I found to be rude, and confrontational for no other reason than she thought she could. I'm a Veteran and have stayed in many apartment complexes across the U.S. by far she is the worst I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. For this reason along I would never recommend anyone stay here. People have really gotten to the point where they do not value a customer. On yesterday, I was contacted by the office manager Debby, this was to notify me that she had yet to receive my rent payment. I explained to her that I had mailed it due to the fact that I had moved out of the State in early August. She then begin to yell about late fees being accrued and that I need to make an additional payment to cover them. I asked that she take any late fees accrued between our conversation and the actual receipt of payment from my deposit. She then begin to yell about how she can't and want do it and even though i kept a civil tone with her she found it to be necessary to be condescending. when I ask if there was someone else I could speak to about this matter. she ranted that she was in charge and that I wouldn't be speaking with anyone else. I shouldn't have expected anything less from this individual, since while actually staying at the apartment she called me up in the middle of the day, yelling about a couch I had dumped near the dumpster, and threaten penalties and fines. When I explained it was me who placed any furniture near the dumpster she called me a liar. Keep in mind that there is a motion activated camera with full view of the dumpster. which could be used to positive identify the culprit. Which I asked her to do, as a measure to prove my innocence of claim. She said that she definitely would and I would be paying for this indiscretion. The day went own and I never heard a word. So I reached out, to get the matter settled. She had come to the conclusion that I wasn't the perpetrator, but didn't feel it necessary to apologize for her blatant mischaracterization of me or the fact that she called me a liar. When I brought this to her attention. She offered a half hearted apology. For anyone who thinks that I might have trashed the apartment, and anticipated not receiving my deposit back and that's the reason I made the statements, I've included photos of my last day at the apartment. Yes I clean the floors, which is not required as a part of the lease agreement."
"We lived here for 6 years 2010-2016 and it was wonderful, of course no matter in what apartment you live if you have noisy neighbors you will hear them but overall the staff and the apartments are nice. The only bad think I can think of is the snow removal timing but overall we had a very good experience :)"
