The Stella Hotel & Ballroom

"A hidden gem in downtown Kenosha (yes downtown). A newly remodeled (2019) 1800s historic building with an "post modernism" look and feel. Nice rooms, comfy beds excellent staff, great place in the morning to get coffee and a sandwich and a great overall feel. Walking distance to local bars and restaurants. We have stayed there several times in the past couple of years and never been disappointed. Give it a shot on your next Kenosha trip!"

"The Stella Hotel is in a beautiful location in downtown Kenosha and easily accessible to restaurants, pubs and a short walk to the waterfront. The decor is vintage style with wide open areas upon checking-in. The restaurant was closed for the 3 days that we were here and our room was never tended to (which is part of the fun when being away from home). The front desk woman was VERY irritated when I went down and asked for the lounge chair (we had the king suite with the living room) that should've been in our room. She handled it poorly which could've been a simple, "No problem, I apologize and will get it to you asap" but it was very unpleasant (and had us go into another room to retrieve it). Kudos to the friendly person who brought us clean towels-he was a breath of fresh air. We would stay here again but hopefully will have a more professional experience with the front desk!"

"My husband and I are from the area & had a night out in our home town as a mini vacation this past summer. We had been to the roof top bar previously & enjoyed it, despite believe the orientation could be laid out better to provide better views of downtown to the guests. Nonetheless we were excited to spend a night in the new downtown hotel that looked so lovely from the outside. Front lobby is comfortable & staff had been very welcoming all throughout the stay. Once we got our keys and headed to our room it was a very different experience. The carpeting reminded me of an old gross casinos trying to hide stains. The walls were thin drywall poorly painted gray. Doors were placed in odd locations, the one on the end of the hall practically touching the adjacent wall. & when we finally walked into our room my husband and I both felt as if we paid to stay in a prison. Rooms were small, all things painted grey, cement ceilings exposed. The showers were molds rather than actual tile. We were very excited to stay in our home town but by the end of it felt as if we were tricked into staying in a cheaply done hotel room with a nice façade. We did enjoy the night out on the town & spent very little time in the hotel room. That morning I order a croissant from the lobby cafe, that was cut and toasted & a hot latte that was very enjoyable."

"Third stay at the Stella in three years. Best hotel in downtown Kenosha. Modern and extra clean guest rooms in a wing attached to a historic building. Nice cafe and we have visited the cafe each stay. Not enough vegetarian options to make it worth our while to try the restaurant. This trip was the first time the rooftop bar was open during a stay. Cool views from the roof- decent beer selection, not great cocktail and no food menus (maybe they had closed the kitchen?)."

"First off and most importantly the customer service here is INCREDIBLE. Everyone is warm, friendly, accommodating. They would literally go out of their way to help me on my wedding day and tried their best to anticipate my needs. The venue was so bright, airy and beautiful it made the day and the photos unforgettable. The floor of the venue was so clean I could literally see the reflection of myself and my husband on the floor in our wedding photos. Crazy. The price was absolutely reasonable. I feel like I almost got the help of a professional wedding planner as a bonus with the venue helping me to coordinate everything. Oh my god and the food. After the tasting I was literally dreaming about my wedding day just so I could taste the appetizers again. Holy cannoli if I think about it too much I’ll salivate. But I cannot say enough good things about the Stella. Thank you for making our wedding day perfect ❤️"
