"The landlord filed an eviction against me not long after I raised concerns to the city about sewage, mold and water in my basement for months! Same carpet for months ! 6months later the company started repairs! Mold removal and such… not once offering another place of residence or anything! Shortly after a lease renewal offer was accepted and approved . I signed my lease renewal because I had just returned to work after being on work comp for 3 1/2 months and there weren’t any other affordable rentals in the area! The landlord sent a 30 day notice after lease renewal was accepted ,in which funds were paid! Then a 10 day notice which was wrongfully issued 9 days later! The 10 day came certified mail in which a postal carrier signed my name for the certified mail, without me even knowing it! Thats fraud….mail tampering and identity theft! The landlord then entered an eviction 30 days after funds for rent and everything owed was paid! 3 months later we go to court…After court proceedings ,The landlord then piled on thousands of dollars of attorneys fees and over $900 of claimed rent owed. Stating I was month to month !!! No certified documents stating month to month or anything!!! The postal carrier later admitted to forging my signature on certified mail! A lease for 12 months had been signed and accepted! I’ve been living at this property for 3 years and they’ve had 2 different owners through out the years ! With the staggering cost of living and rent going up EVERYWHERE! This was the only affordable option I had at the time. I am a single mother of 3 who has recently undergone surgery to remove cancer and is in the process of healing and recovery! Still paying rent on time and bills! Thank God! My security deposit was more than the $900 claimed rent owed($2300 to be exact in which $1900 would be returned upon vacancy)The landlord and the Judge still moved to kick a sick mother and her 3 children out in the middle of winter! I hope my review helps explain my interaction with the landlord. Then to constantly hassle me with text messages of rent owed with absurd amounts! After the judge ruling had an outrageous price! This is very frustrating to say the least! I am not a troublesome tenant! I work hard to provide a good life for me and my children! Holding down a government job for 14 years! A dangerous job at that! I’ve been on work comp for work related injuries a few times while renting here and the unfair treatment for disabled residents rather permanently or temporarily is ridiculous! Now I’m temporarily disabled and my return to work date is unknown, while still PAYING RENT (the price that was on my signed and accepted lease 2023-2024)ON TIME!!!!!!! I still have to vacate the premises soon! Attempting to find a safe haven for me and my children in a 3 1/2 week time span!!!!!! This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! BEWARE OF THE LEASE ! BEWARE OF THE INCONSISTENCY! GOD BLESS"
"Wouldn’t recommend living here. We stayed for two years because we couldn’t afford to move at the end of our first year’s lease, and our second year we had a rent increase. Lots of problems from day 1 - we were unable to see our unit before receiving the keys, only a “deluxe” version, so we didn’t get an accurate depiction of what our unit would look like. Upon entering our actual unit for the first time, there was a bowel movement left in the toilet unflushed and used toilet paper on the bathroom floor. The laminate was peeling off the floor of the kitchen and sticking up where it met the carpet, and was never addressed despite our complaints. The freezer was leaking into the fridge the first eeek we moved in and when maintenance finally showed up, they blamed us, and then blamed the previous tenants, with no effort to fix the issue. Eventually a third party vendor came and fixed it for us. Maintenance was hard to receive, and often was poor when it was received. We spent several weeks worth of time staying with family members because our AC would go out frequently, during the hottest parts of summer. In a July of 2022 and 2023, it went out and it reached almost 90° in our unit. In December of 2022, we spent nearly the whole month without an oven because it took so long for someone to come fix it. Also in December of 2022, our sump pump broke. The basement flooded and maintenance told us it was from snow melting and leaking through the walls. Upon further investigation a TARP was found in the sump pump (was not placed there by my husband or me) which caused the pump to burn out. With the maintenance issues, constant utility breakdowns, and what seems to be poor management, I would not recommend signing a lease here. It is not worth the hassle to constantly have to fight for things to be fixed, and receive poor quality work. I hope that with time this community will become a better one, but for the time being I suggest looking elsewhere for a rental."
"We have had issues with our furnace over the past week and maintenance has been quick to respond. Our garbage disposal started leaking and was replaced the next day. Jabari has been very friendly and helpful during this time!!"
"Been living here with my husband for the past year and a half with another year to go. Recently, with the summer coming to the close and getting ready for colder months, we put in a lot of work orders. If there was a rating system for the staff, Aaron from maintenance would get 10/5 stars, he was amazing! He took care of our issues quickly and was amazing to talk to for future tips and tricks! While yes, getting maintenance its on the slow side at times, when you get them it is worth the wait. Props to the maintenance team!"
"READ THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO LEASE HERE… Its a long review but it is worth your time. Only consider this apartment complex if you are ready to spend out-of-pocket for all maintenance issues and have the time and energy to invest in addressing these yourselves. We have stayed across several states and apartment complexes. RENEW HAS THE WORST MAINTENANCE AND MOVE-IN EXPERIENCE OF THEM ALL. Its clear as day that they don’t care about their residents. The day you sign the lease, their attitude changes instantly. I have detailed descriptions below. Maintenance Issues: The amount of maintenance issues for a “move-in” ready home is surprising. From the time we moved in - The AC unit is barely alive. We had to purchase boosters to keep the home cool. - There are missing blinds and its a free show for everyone. People can clearly see everything happening in our home. - The doors are jammed so bad that it takes all our strength to make them budge an inch - A third of all light fixtures don’t work. We had to invest in floor lamps just so that we could have enough light to walk around. The management is non-existent when it comes to work orders. It has been 2 weeks and not a single person has even bothered to even contact us. So addressing the issues is nowhere in the horizon. Uncleanliness- To start with the apartment was in an extremely dirty condition. There was not only dirt and debris, but sharp nails all over. We don’t always walk with footwear around the house and my husband got stuck by 1 in nail hidden in the carpets. And the nails were in absolutely all places. The vents of the ac are absolutely disgustingly dirty. You will cringe looking into them. We spend a whole day cleaning just the vents to help reduce the dust flying in the air. I have been a renter for very long and there was no place that hands over the apartment is such disgusting manner. If they do, I was given a refund in my rent so that I could get the place professionally cleaned. Leakage: 3 of the windows in the apartment have severe leakage issues. They are bad to a point that its collecting puddles of water in the apartment. We set up office there and all our office devices (laptop, monitor, cameras, table etc.) were submerged in water due to the leakage. We had to scale ladders and put sealants on top of window frames from outside to stop the leakage. The management would not even address leakage issues. Lastly, we signed up a lease with a very high price for 2 bedroom apartment as they promoted saying the apartment would be renovated. It is just a band aid patch for everything. The doors have holes and cracks in them. The cabinet drawers are broken. They have only painted over the cabinets to make it look like new. The Base moulding/ trims are missing in many walls. And those that are present have cracks on them. The apartment came with so many holes on the walls and ceiling."
