"Would not recommend living here…. When I first moved in. I tried to move out not even three days later. It’s my first apartment. School was starting and I’m having mental breakdowns because of how poorly kept this place is. I got all of my boxes put in my room and turns out no inspections were done. The living room wall had quarter sized holes. With dirt rings around them. Dirt covered the walls and windows and baseboards. Bugs were crawling throughout kitchen cabinets, windows, inside the fridge. The kitchen sink and shower head was so calcified it should’ve been considered a hazard (replaced them right away). So with how upset we were about the living situation. I decided to stay at home and just drive up for a couple days. The next day I come into my apartment and there were colonies and I mean colonies of ant crawling within my closet and throughout the room. I had to take my clothes home and rewash every item I had. My family and I spent our entire move in and the next two weeks cleaning the apartment to make it how an apartment should look. And I now have to mop and vacuum twice a week with solution to keep bugs and pest away. My kitchen counters get wiped down every day. And I inspect kitchen cabinets anytime they are opened. What was supposed to be a joyful and momental experience turned into hell. We had arguments with management over the roommate having a bunny and letting it poop throughout the apartment, living conditions, bugs, etc. City inspector was called out three times to put a stop to the nonchalant management. Dishwasher was full of mold (also luckily had gotten replaced right after). I have just moved in during August and I don’t plan on staying here after this lease is up. Here it is winter and I moved in during August. I still have problems with spiders even living on the third floor. None of the floor are properly sealed/installed. The door is not properly sealed. I have problems with the air just smelling like something rotten even though I have had filters replaced. Another issue is parking… you pay $75 for a parking fee only to have the entire two rows of parking be reserved spots. When I first moved in my mom asked if we can get a reserved spot because I work late hours and I am a girl. Management told us it was not possible and that they had no more. The next day we see them freshly paint more spots. I should not have to pay for parking only to have to park in the front of the building and still having to park in reserved because there are legit no other empty spots, to walk all the way to the back of the complex to reach my apartment. My friends live in other complexes and had absolutely no problems. This place is seriously outdated, they need to either make a choice lower the rent or renovate your apartments. They are able to afford a brand new renovated clubhouse compared to actually being renovating what needs to be renovated. It is sad to see that people can just become money hungry and not care or respect college students living situations. Just because we are college students does not mean we like to live in a pig pen. SIUE’s dorms we’re nicer than living situations here… not to mention cheaper. I would rather pay for reserves or parcs rent because you actually get what you pay for there. I paid for parking and barely even get that. I have read other reviews… managements only replies with “we’re so sorry about your experience” and “please contact us to discuss issues”. No effort or initiative is actually being taken to improve quality of living here. So I hope this review finds someone who might consider living here and I hope you take this review seriously and take it into consideration. My advice: really explore your options. I know it can be stressful but other places will have better living and experiences which will in the long run cause you less stress."
"I recently moved to Edwardsville, and I must say that "The Social" has been an incredibly welcoming place to live. The community here is warm and friendly, and I've had the pleasure of getting to know some wonderful people. In particular, I want to mention Riley, Brady, Xian, and Kim. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home. Riley's cheerful demeanor and helpfulness have been a true blessing during my transition. Brady's sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand have made me feel like part of the family. Xian's kindness and openness have been a source of comfort, and Kim's attentiveness to the needs of the community is truly commendable. Living at The Social has been a delightful experience, largely thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere fostered by these individuals. I couldn't have asked for a better place to call home, and I'm grateful to have met such wonderful neighbors. If you're considering moving to Edwardsville, I highly recommend The Social for its fantastic community and the amazing people like Riley, Brady, Xian, and Kim who make it feel like home"
"My stepson lived at The Social last year, and we could not be happier! The staff was welcoming and accommodating, and the price was fair. The Social staff was amazing, including but not limited to Xian, Kim, Brady, and Riley. Would definitely recommend to any parents sending their kids to SIUe!"
"I loved our time spent visiting the Social Edwardsville! The property manager Xian was super friendly and made herself available to answer any questions! The facility was so clean, modern, and up-to-date. The amenities are fantastic, including a gym, grill station, sport courts, pool, and dog park, which are always clean and well-maintained. The location cannot be beaten, as it is such a short distance to campus, restaurants, and shops. I highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to live!"
"I love living at the Social! The staff is super friendly and always helpful when I have questions. They are always good about getting back to me super quick if I ever have any concerns. The maintenance team always does a great and quick job if I ever need something fixed. It’s a great neighborhood and my neighbors are kind and not too loud. The amenities are great and overall I love it here so much!!"
