"I started taekwondo here back in 2008 and since then the school and people have impacted my life for the better. I began my taekwondo training at a different school and quit because I was unhappy. I eventually started taekwondo at Westlake and instantly began to meet lifelong friends and to learn skills beyond the martial art. I am now a black belt as well as an instructor at the Westlake Taekwondo Academy and there is no place I would rather be. This is a community that anyone can learn to thrive in. Mr. McCulloch is a very experienced instructor who attempts to push his students to do their best while providing a safe and disciplined learning environment. The instructors have a monthly meeting to discuss how to improve the curriculum and how to improve our teaching skills so that the students really have the best experience. It is hard to say that I have consistently done something year round for seven years straight, but I have never gotten tired of coming to Taekwondo. I enjoy taekwondo and the people who are around me on a daily basis: the pre-teens, the people in the adult class, and of course my instructors.
