"I waited to post this review for about 8 months. My daughter enjoyed her dance class a lot because the coach was very skilled and sweet and playful, but we ended up having to stop classes due to schedule issues on our end. That said, I had some other lingering concerns while we attended which I believe were caused due to lack of back office support for the owner who was also teaching. Im sure this is not the only studio that struggled through the pandemic, so kudos to the facility for managing; however, there were some corners cut that seemed a little too far. I really hope the best for the studio to get back on its footing now that the pandemic is over. The one experience that rubbed me the wrong way was during the “recital” in December 2021. Entry was $10 per person over 2 years old (I think). I don’t think I realized we’d have to pay to enter and, while I was fine paying, I felt very bad for the single moms with many kids in tow who had to pay over $40 just to see one of their kids perform for a couple minutes. During the event, My daughter’s class performed a ballet routine that was no more than 4 minutes and it was cute. However, it was notable that there was no tap performance despite being in a combo class. My parents drove 2 hours each way to come to the recital as I was not aware this was not really a recital. It was clear that it wasn’t as big of an event as the spring show would be, but it was not clearly communicated that this was going to be so pressed for time. It seemed like all other classes in the performance had at least 2 songs to dance to (some even more). My daughter was very disappointed that she didn’t get to tap dance. I know it’s silly, but this was the biggest thing in her little world. I’m sure a lot of effort went into planning and it was a beautiful set. However, I believe it could have been a better experience if there was a bit more administrative support for the studio to take some weight off the owner. I cannot imagine the workload she endured. So this is not a criticism, just feedback."

"Miss Stephanie is an incredible dance teacher and leader. She has navigated this pandemic with grace and kindness. She continues to make changes that best serve her dancers and families and I am grateful for the relationships that have come out of her business. My daughter has always been apprehensive about leaving my side, but she had no problem walking into class without me. I think that was because of the joyful and kind atmosphere that surrounds EDC from the moment you walk in the door."

"While in quarantine, one of the things my daughter has missed the most has been Energy Dance Center! I love that Ms Stephanie has been so professional in following Covid guidelines, doing her best to keep the EDC family safe and healthy, and so open in communicating to parents about what to expect! It’s hard for small businesses right now, but EDC is one of the very best! So thankful for how my daughter has grown there!"

"My daughter has been going to EDC since it opened, I feel like she has grown up here! Stephanie is an amazing dance teacher; not only is she a great teacher but she has the patience of a saint with all of these kids (and their parents)!! Stephanie is always going above and beyond to over communicate everything (which has been super helpful with the pandemic) and she still has time to somehow manage to answer my 1,001 follow up questions that come after her emails. On a more personal note, we are a military family and my husband has deployed twice while my daughter has gone to this studio (and we are gearing up for a third). Stephanie and the other teachers have always been understanding while my daughter and I adjust to our family’s “temporary new normal” (i.e. not always making it to class on time or it could be a day when she’s really missing daddy). They are always there asking how she is, giving her an extra hug, or just being there to listen if she needs to talk. Dance has always been my daughters outlet for her emotions; she dances out her joy, sillies, sadness, anything-she’ll dance to it and they let her do her thing. This studio has helped her in more ways than they probably know and for that we are so grateful. We appreciate Stephanie and all of the other dance teachers. They have helped my daughter grow into a confident little lady who knows it’s ok to just be herself, whatever that self is on that particular day. Dancing brings her such joy and I’m so thankful that EDC has been her safe place—her home away from home—for all of these years. If you are looking for a dance studio that is fun, energetic, caring, and has a family atmosphere, you’ve come to the right studio!"
