"The check-in process could be a lot better managed, especially when booking multiple rooms. Outside of that, the rooms were beautiful — gave me a French vibe — pretty close to everything for my work trip, and it was pretty quiet even with the bars and restaurants outside the gorgeous large windows."
"This hotel does not have any workers! I was hesitant to stay here because of all the negative reviews but I had a wonderful time. They text you with a general check in information form right after you book your room, I noticed people saying it took awhile to get a text back so I filled out the form 3 hours before we arrived and they responded in 10 minutes. Once you complete the form they then text you your room number and a code to get your keys from the lockbox outside by the door. This process was so smooth we arrived, got our keys out of the lock box and went straight up to our room, no waiting in line, no checking in at the front desk. I will stay here again, it’s pretty self explanatory. Location is awesome."
"BEWARE. OF SCAM. I booked a reservation for my daughter this afternoon on line for a reservation tonight for their Wrigley location. Their website froze so I had to close and do it over again. My daughter called a couple hours later to say that when checking in she was told there were two reservations. I called to point out that there was an obvious error with the website as the two reservations for the website came in one minute apart for the same person but was told it’s too late to cancel. And by the way the charge was wrong as well. My confirmation was $206 and the credit card shows $239 twice. There was another charge for $123? So I am $600 into a $200 room. The women on the phone said there was nothing she could do. I have already disputed the charge with my cc company. This is not the practices of a reputable hotel and I warn you about staying at any of their hotels. Good luck."
"By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked through my credit card, and when I got there they asked if I had received a check-in text, which I hadn't. I had to call to ask me to send it while standing in front of the "hotel." After I submitted my check-in info and checked the box to pay at the property, I got a text with the wrong name on it that they needed credit card info. So I had to re-fill out the entire form again, and then I called after getting no text, and they told me my credit card could not be processed. They kept telling me I had to put in my zip code, but there was no question for zip code on the form. After 3 attempts, multiple texts with the wrong name, I finally gave up and asked them to cancel my stay. They told me I had to call Hopper. After speaking with my credit card company to get a refund for my travel rewards, they said the hotel marked me as a "No-show" and that a refund could not be issued. The entire time, I was standing in front of the hotel trying to get checked in. Definitely do not stay at this "hotel" or whatever it is."
"Bizarre but functional Not bad if you pay attention to everything. The lead up to check in was worrisome, with the odd text interactions with the staff, but it was fairly painless once in the building. The human variable is strong with this place. I don’t think it’s a scam, I think it’s just a poor business model in a rundown building. PROS: No staff to interact with. An introverts dream. CONS: no physical staff to address problems. Fortunately, we did not encounter any problems. Had we run into one, I could see how it would be very frustrating. SUGGESTIONS: sign on the front door telling guests to do pre-check in.- There were a lot of messages to complete the process, but made it seem more of a suggestion than a requirement. - A mini fridge in a suit would be expected, plenty of space for one in our room. - Updating information about this hotel: there are steps in the check in process that do not apply to this hotel. Inside room also says you get free alcoholic drinks. WARNING: this is a VERY bar heavy street. There will be partying until 2am. Bring earplugs."
