Courtyard by Marriott Rockford 7676 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61108

"My husband had to stay for his job and Upon entering the lobby seemed ok it was a nice lady who checked us in. But me and my husband were told to go to the other side of the hotel to check in it looked like a motel outside didn’t seem the safest the hall way was gloomy the carpet had stains in it and needed a good vacuuming. When we got into our room it smelled like mildew/ mold I was disappointed with that the wallpaper is faded and the calling has a part that is chipped and coming off along with the wallpaper .. I’m currently still here at this hotel the balcony makes me not feel that safe due to it being on the second floor. The shower is outdated and there was rust on the tissue holder. Breakfast is not included for the money they make they should really do some updating. There is an area by our bed that is carpet boarder that is coming off the furniture in here is very chipped also . Just waiting for a bug to come out of the bathroom.. I am Just disappointed this hotel is not living up to Marriott’s name ."

"The staff was very friendly and there to meet our needs 100%. I especially enjoyed Koko (Korie), who reminded me of what I love most about my hometown: kindness and the gift of hospitality. She felt like a friend. We had several family members come visit us, and we gathered for hours in the lobby. The staff was always respectful and made us feel welcome to use it as out home away from home. The fireplace and Christmas decor made it feel that much more welcoming. The gym had all we needed, and the snack/coffee bar was so very convenient. Yes, you pay for breakfast, but the food quality is so much higher than those free powdered egg experiences! We enjoyed things like avocado toast, oatmeal with fresh blueberries, and Starbucks coffees every morning. This will continue to be our go-to hotel every time we visit."

"Staff friendly and accommodating, but that's the only positive. The first think I noticed when I checked out my room was the MOLD. How do you not notice the bathroom has a mold problem? It made me doubt the cleanliness of the resto f the room. I spent 4 nights there and I'M EXHAUSTED. There is no reason to still have a HVAC unit that is that loud when it turns on/off. My choices were turn off the air and bake, or keep it on and wake up every 5 min when the thing clunks to life. Earplugs didn't help. Beyond that, there seems to be no curfew for the pool, which was right next to my room, so screaming all night, yay. And I was placed right next to a main entrance so I got to listen the never-ending stream of drunk businessmen stream in and out all night. Been a long time since I was so disappointed in an experience with a hotel. Never staying here again."

"This Courtyard is an old style Courtyard from when Courtyards actually had a courtyard. The hotel has seen some renovations, but is in desperate need of overhaul. The rooms are well sized, and could use a little more attention to cleanliness specially in the shower area where there was mold in the corners. The beds were acceptable. Temperature control unit on the wall didn’t appear to work very well but the temperature remain consistent in the room during my stay. Staff were friendly at check-in but I did not use any other service where staff were involved. Exercise room is small, but that is pretty standard for these older courtyard hotels."

"We stayed one night. The hotel looks nice form the outside. Inside it is old and semi clean. Our room had small bugs in it which I think but am not sure what kind. But my work experiences with rental properties these were not the good kind. Not what I'm use to when I go stay at a Marriott. Others have always been clean, this one not so much."
