"This was our first time staying at The Steamboat House. We went just before Halloween so the leaves were changing. The property was very pretty and the house was beautifully decorated. Our room and the common area were amazing. Our room included a private balcony, was very clean, and all of the well-kept antiques added a lot of charm. The service was exquisite. We arrived too late to have dinner but breakfast was delicious! We will stay here again when we are in the area."

"CAUTION! Don't stay here if you are sensitive to mold or dust!!! Or have allergies or asthma. On our recent stay we encountered horrible air quality conditions. We had a two night stay planned and left a night early, opting to stay at another local hotel. When we brought this manager's attention they did nothing to make improvements (switching rooms/ airing out the room), or a refund. We attempted to communicate all of this with the owner and have yet to receive a response(and it's been a few weeks) Note: On a positive note, the cookies they put out were fantastic! Edited 8/13/23 to include: We received a copy of a non-descript report that didn't mention the location or date stating the premise was "mold free" a month after our stay. We have yet to receive an apology or refund."

"My husband and I stayed here for a night and it was wonderful. The house itself is beautiful and so unique, a piece of history. Our host was welcoming and the room clean. We appreciated the delicious cookies in the evening and morning coffee. It only took 5 minutes to walk downtown. We would love to stay here again and would recommend it to others."

"This is our first time here. My wife and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and chose the Steamboat house. I want to say that Carol is an amazing host! The rooms are all beautiful and for us the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Carol also gave us cheese, crackers and wine in the early evening and sweets with hot chocolate or tea in the later evening. Thank you Carol for making our stay a memory we will never forget. We will definitely come back!"
