"Dr. Johnson gives clear thoughtful answers but most of all, she walked in prepared and then showed me lab result trends over the past year plus. Plus Dr. J is a delight to speak with."
"Be ready to be overcharged and given the runaround. I have had experiences with Texas Oncology in the past. I visited the Rowlett/Garland location several times a few years ago and everything was fine. The staff was friendly, concerned, and helpful. However, I do not see myself going to this Plano location's practice again. I was referred to Dr. Saez by my PCP about my white blood count being low. My entire visit couldn't have been more than an hour and most of it waiting around (like most doctor's offices). The nurse checked me in and took me back to the exam room, asked me some questions, then left me to wait for Dr. Saez to come see me. After some time, he came in, spent about 5 minutes with me looking at the referral, asked me a couple of questions and then ordered labs. They scheduled a follow-up appointment for a couple of weeks later before I left that office. The person scheduling it set it up as Tele-Health call, and gave me the details and even marked in on the card as "telemed". I was supposed to get a text with the link that same day, but didn't. Then got a call that I had missed my appointment. Long story short, the person who scheduled my appointment put it into the system as an in-person visit. I had to reschedule for another week or two. Upon getting the link this time, I accessed it, but the sound wasn't working on their end, and they couldn't figure out why so we ended up doing it over the phone. Things happen, so I just moved on. Took my prescriptions and went about my days. Then comes my bill in the mail where they billed me for a 60 minute visit with Dr. Saez for $629, not to mention being charged for a couple of labs (Reticulocyte count and CBC W/auto Diff WBC). That was strange because I had to pay for my labs separately through Quest, so I'm not sure why I'm being charged from two different institutions for my labs when they only pulled blood from me in one sitting. I've called the number on the bill and asked about the 60 minute charge, and they told me that was the entire time I was in the office. I told them that couldn't be true because I was being charged for waiting around, but she said that was how it was and if I wanted I could contact the place with a direct number she gave me. The number called a different location, but that lady gave me the correct number and I've been calling to talk with the person in charge, but she has a voicemail that says she is gone on leave since July and not to leave a message. I got a hold of another person who is in charge of billing and she finally put my grievance in for review telling me that the person investigating would call me later that day. This is two days later and I haven't received a call. I called their office back (I had to call times from 2 different phones because it wouldn't ring, wouldn't hang up, just silence). It finally connected and I spoke to the same lady, she said it was still under review because the person who does that is out and won't be back until tomorrow. This has all been a giant nightmare. Maybe Doctor Saez is good, I can't tell yet, but it's not worth the royal run arounds, and excessive billing that is being done in this office."
