"I appreciate the time Gerianne Hernandez took to speak with me and hear about our situation in depth. She is kind and considerate. We have lost nearly everything on account of our circumstances. We went through the process and the outcome was as expected - we did not get any legal advice or assistance. We were disqualified on the basis of income despite the severity of our situation. Shortly before getting the declination letter stating we would not be helped, our home was burglarized and water tank stolen from the property in addition to the construction concerns I had shared with you about the house. They broke the pipes off in the cement and left an old tank outside the fence at the property that was rusted out. We continue to be victimized by people who see we are vulnerable because we are not getting any help. I filed a police report as the property is listed for sale. They said we most likely would not see any recovery of the stolen property. We received threats against our health and safety should we return or attempt to visit the property. I had to change my phone number because of this. I have filed three separate reports with the Fort Bend County Sheriff concerning that situation. I understand you consider who you help on an income basis, but you need to evaluate the extenuating circumstances of the people you are getting requests for assistance from. Arbitrary rejection solely on the basis of income is not a good way of deciding who to help and who not to help. This is a failure to render service to those who desperately need it. I hope, like so many others I have contacted, that you change the way you operate in terms of qualification guidelines for who gets help and who does not. I gave you three stars because I got the help I expected, which was nothing. That is the average experience I have had. No one gives a damn when you are permanent sick because you have been hurt and abused in the worst of ways by others or when you have a mentally disabled child. Thanks for nothing."
