Founded by the founder of Mata Counseling Services, Sharon Beam, who is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor with extensive experience in the mental health field. Sharon graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Abnormal Psychology & Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling with a 4.0 GPA. With over 15 years of experience as a professional counselor, Sharon is certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. She is also trained in CBT, DBT, and Activity/Play Therapy.

Sharon has worked with various organizations, including Denton County Juvenile Detention, Denton County MHMR Center, and The Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County. She has extensive experience in treating survivors of trauma, including severe physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, and more. Sharon is also experienced in working with children, teens, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and other mental health issues.

At Sharon Beam LPC, individual counseling services are provided for children (8 years and older), teens, and adults. Sharon offers LGBTQIA friendly counseling and can provide faith-based counseling upon request. She specializes in EMDR Therapy, TF-CBT, and Attachment-Focused EMDR Therapy. Her collaborative approach to counseling allows clients to actively participate in creating their therapeutic goals and finding effective strategies to improve their mental and emotional health.
