"Never have I ever experienced some of the things that I did today while I was here for a 90 min deep tissue massage. I get it, these are students who are learning to be good therapists. But… I threw my back out a few days ago. I told my therapist (Zaria) and asked for lighter pressure on my lower back. She even confirmed that the pressure she was using in that area was OK, and it was. 10 minutes before the time is up, though, she proceeded to karate chop me HARD down one side and back up the other. I was shocked. She only did it once, or I would have stopped her… but that is all it took. I am still holding back tears from the pain I left in. I spent money to be hurt worse than when I arrived, and I am frustrated. She also allotted less than 10 minutes to work on one of 3 areas I asked her to focus on, which was disappointing. On top of this, though, as I was getting dressed I could hear what sounded like my therapist talking to someone else in the hall or the room next door. I heard something about “hair up in a bun… are you sure you want it down?” And then something about “a braid and it really got on my nerves.” My hair was in a side braid and she never asked if I could move it away from my face, so I figured it was ok. Even if I’m wrong and she wasn’t talking about me, please, teachers at this school, teach your students to not EVER talk about clients while they are in the building! It isn’t professional to talk about anyone, and I’m pretty sure it was about me. Zaria, you had no problem telling me that you don’t tolerate sexual abuse, but you can’t ask if I can move my hair out of the way? I tried calling them after the fact to talk to someone about it, but now, nobody answers the phone. I don’t know if Thousand Oaks has a phone, but park north didn’t answer, either. So, I guess here I go putting this on blast. What really sucks is I still have 2 prepaid sessions to use at this place. I hope when I return my experience is better. I will talk to someone about this at that time, if not before."

"I came to this Thousand Oaks location today for my appointment that was scheduled at 11:30 with Meagan. I arrived a few minutes early and right off the bat the vibe was not relaxing. I was greeted by Cortney who rushed into the door with no big deal. I asked her if something happened to Meagan that I was told my therapist would be her but I’m ok with anyone doing my massage but I was just wondering. She told me she didn’t know and that she didn’t work today. No problem she asked me a few questions about any injuries and I told her that I was hoping to relieve some of the pain I’m having. She proceeded to tell me that my appointment was for a wellness massage. I told her that no my appt is for a deep tissue massage. She tells me well I do wellness. I’ve never had a therapist be disrespectful to me like that ever. She then tells me don’t shoot the messenger and she’s going up the the front I tell her let’s both go up because at this point. I feel disrespected and like me time is being wasted. She tells Ana what I said which I confirm that I had a deep tissue appt with Meagan but that she’s not here. First excuse is that they can’t control the students availability ma’am I booked this appt a whole week in advance and had been looking forward to it just to be told oh I’m sorry about that. This location is no different from the north park one and I do not recommend this massage school to anyone."
