"My biggest issue with the PTA Academy, was that I was guaranteed employment after obtaining certifications. Which I have done so! I still have not received employment with any corporate gym or private franchise. I should note this was before COVID. Many of the Partners that Jason Rios brought in, supposedly hired students from the PTA academy to work for their business. These companies did background checks, thus a felony conviction wouldn't permit me to get the job, no matter what the charge. I understand a background check is needed for employment, I am not against that. However I want people to understand that others acquiring their certification at the school also had background check issues. How am I as an individual supposed to grow and change my life for the better as well as help others if I can't get my foot in the door? This was one of the reasons I chose going to this school, so that I could obtain a job! I paid $1500 to go to the PTA academy to learn what I already knew from studying the same books acquired outside the PTA academy. I was also told I would get 3 certifications and I only got 2. The PTA Academy also said they would provide CPR training. They never did! I discussed this matter with Jason Rios multiple times and instead of providing me a class or a solution he passed blame to a CPR instructor that I never met. I had to personally search for a CPR instructor myself and was never reimbursed for the payment. This was supposed to be part of my certification that was promised to me but did not receive from them. I did reach out to the staff at the academy after I received my certification. The last thing they told me was they said they looked into it and I never received a call or received any job offers. I now carry a NASM certification license and still struggle with finding employment. If I had known this be the case, I would have saved my $1500 and went elsewhere. To those looking into going to this school for their programs, please ask questions and don't believe everything the PTA academy tells you. "Mark put the FUN in functional learning/hands-on instruction in this personal training course! The material was easy to learn and a study guide/manual was also included in course. Material covered included anatomy/physiology, assessment modules, nutrition, excercise prescription and more! Both Mark and Jason helped apply our ‘book knowledge’ into real world/client scenarios."
