"BEWARE all Substitute Teachers/Assistants -- WHY?! Because - FIRST: whenever you pick an assignment as substitute you must make sure before going to this campus that they really need you for the assignment that is advertised. When you reach at the campus, you can be told that they don't need you for that particular job. That is so awkward and ill-mannered indeed. Your entire day would be wasted. SECOND: Be prepared that you're not going to do the same assignment that you've taken for this day. Because you will be sent to perform really other job or classroom that you avoid otherwise. Many of us have choices and preferences to perform duties and we pick up the assignment according to our acumen and liking. E.g. some of us prefer to teach in Pre-K or 5th graders or Kinder or Life Skills or similarly some of us prefer to help in Special Education. But when you reach at this campus to teach in a class of your choice that you've taken an assignment for, you won't be given that anyway. Thats quite immoral and unethical behavior. So confirm twice before you go that you're just coming for that very job that you have taken. Once one of our colleagues picked up an assignment for 5th graders and she was used in different classrooms and wasn't even given break for lunch. THIRD and LAST (but not least in fact) you would immediately start realizing the extreme weird and awkward behavior towards you, especially by the ladies at sub office. Specially speaking about the behavior of the secretary Mrs Braun. Looks like she is doing a huge favor on you because she has granted a day job being a teacher or para. She has a couple of complaints by her behavior by some of our other subs as well. In extension and relevance to my last point, we few substitute who know each other and occasionally meet somewhere to share and resolve similar problems are of the same views about this campus. Another one of our colleagues was also behaved so rudely and she did mention Mrs Braun's name who was very unkind towards her. We're looking for some more substitutes who experienced such bad from this campus or sub office so that we could come to a solution. Looking forward to hear from colleagues. Thanks"
"The administrators, teachers and staff at Bang Elementary make this school a wonderful place for students to learn. This is one of the most friendly and welcoming places for students and families."
"Love this school!!! My daughter only went to Bang for the 5th grade but I wish I would have started her there earlier instead of sending her to Charter schools. The staff at the school is amazing and so encouraging. My daughter was terrified to start attending public school because she hadn't been in public school since the 1st grade, but everyone welcomed her with open arms and made her transition so easy."
"My daughter attended and now both of my grand children attending. I have not had any problems with this school. The teachers are very interactive and keep parents informed."
"They do not listen to you as a parent. Both my children were picked on and bullied. My son was isolated and put in detention hall (ISS) rather than having him in class because the other kids would pick on him and cause him to act out. (He was 7 at the time, 7!!!) He would come home with choke marks around his neck, bruises down his back and all over his legs and arms. we pulled both our kids and now have them in private school. The buses are horrendous as well, its like a feral zoo with kids hanging out windows, yelling and screaming, the bus drivers have no control and assume no responsibilities when things go missing or kids get hurt. TERRIBLE! and they won't do anything if you complain. Another child who was being bullied even after the parents had complained numerous times they did nothing... the boy's arm was broken before summer began."
