Reviews
"Excellent school. Always friendly staff and administrators. My kids love it here and so do I!"
"Our family had been apart of Encino Park for 6 school years now and we absolutely love it. We have a 5th grader who has been here all 6 years, a 2nd grader, and a toddler who will more than likely attend also. You can tell that this school has been around for awhile, they have found the formula that works and they stick with it. The teachers are amazing. I have not come across one teacher yet that I have had problem with. You can tell that every person that works there genuinely cares about all the kids. They help your child excel in academics and becoming a good citizen and person:) In response to a previous reviewer and some comments made. I don't know what they mean about social economics or class, but I don't get why that's a bad thing? It a pretty steady middle class school. Mostly middle range middle class houses. I don't get why that would be negative? I see a bunch of hard working families who are very involved in a school and community. To me that is one major reason why we haven't moved to a different neighborhood is the sense of pride around Encino Park and the amazing people here. Also the comments about pushing kids to specialize in elementary couldn't be more off then what goes on. There are countless programs that not only the school offers after school, but they also send home, love it or hate it, all sorts of flyers to let you know of programs for your child to be apart of. Also the comments about the play were all over the place and completely off. Each grade level does a music program and performs it for the parents and so even if your child not in the play they still have a chance to preform. And yes as heartbreaking as it is to have a child tryout and not make it (my oldest has not made it and in other years made it) it is a great lesson in life and if you don't want to risk your child getting rejected don't let them tryout in the first place. Usually 150+ kids tryout and depending on the play 40-50 make it. Its completely after school and a wonderful program that not one other Elementry (that I'm aware of) in San Antonio does. Normally it's not something your child "did" that would have gotten them the part over another student, it's more who fits the part best. You can be the best singer, but if you don't look the part you won't get it. Yes if your child finds something they want to "specialize" in Encino Park will probably have a program or sources for you to find a program to help your child explore that interest and many others, but that's what makes Encino Park and NEISD so great. They offer and expose ALL of the kids to many different opportunities to let them explore and find out what they like, but if your kid like my 2nd grader doesn't find something to "specialize" in they will be treated the same and not feel left out or behind in anyway and still have an amazing experience and education."
"This school is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!"
"We just moved to town after the start of the school year and all of the staff has been most kind, professional and caring. Our 4th grade teacher is excellent and immediately understood my child's character and how to take him. The parents seem very involved and it is well known that this is the best recipe for success. We are very happy at Encino Park."
